Now on to the fandoms!!!!!

For the Emperor (2014) - Jung Sang-ha/Lee Hwan
I'm actually shocked someone nominated this, but so excited to see someone else in the fandom :D  Yes, my terrible stabby knifey boys!!!!

What can I even say about these two. What a mess. The knives, literal and metaphorical. The possessiveness and control. The angst. The tragedy. The loyalty and the betrayal. I am very open to whump or hurt/comfort for these two, as is fitting for a gangster movie. But also fix-it fic, because glld;odfihdsds;idsfodhfdkfj

Some fic ideas:
-Any kind of whump relating to Cutter or any other rival in the loan shark industry attacking Hwan or Sang-ha could be fun! Or internal feuding. Stabbing, people getting kidnapped or tortured... there's lots of fun gangster potential.
-Obsessive possessive behavior from either or both of these characters would be great. Obviously Sang-ha is already going there, what with how he acts about Hwan's girlfriend, but he could always go further ;) and what about Hwan? In terms of possessiveness, how does he act when other people threaten his place in Sang-ha's life? I'd also love to see him stalk and spy on Sang-ha or act in various ways to manipulate him. Dub-con, non-con and power play are also fine for this ship.
-It's never decided whether Hwan killed Sang-ha's subordinate or not. What if Sang-ha decided he did, and punished him for it? (And did Hwan really do it, or not?)
-Fix-it fic: Get that boat safely docked and get those men to a hospital!! Or otherwise just contrive to let them live lol. Any kind of fic where Sang-ha and Hwan both live would be super welcome.
-Sang-ha met Hwan when he was young. What if he kept an eye on him as he was growing up, or even kept in touch and Hwan knew him? (And what if Hwan had a juvenile crush, for that matter, if possibly a resentful one?)
-Sang-ha wanted to give Hwan a car but Hwan refused it :(. What other gifts might Sang-ha try to give Hwan? I want to see Sang-ha's attempted sugar daddy era!
-I feel like every one of Sang-ha's subordinates and also the old man his boss is aware of how he feels about Hwan. I'd like to see a fic of them all trying to interfere in one way or another, positive or negative, with that relationship, and Hwan, who perhaps may not understand Sang-ha's feelings as well, learning some Information by these machinations.

Art Ideas:
-Kniiiiiives. Knives and blood. That's what I mostly associate with this fandom.
-Noir vibes.
-People in suits and leather jackets and such.
-Hwan visiting Sang-ha in prison with the glass and/or bars between them for angst.
-...tragic death scene art.

Method (2017) - Jae Ha/Young Woo
Another Park Sung-woong movie I adore <3 This messy disaster ship.

Young Woo deserves the world but most of all he deserves to wreak havoc and terrorize that old man. I especially love somewhat darker or more dysfunctional fanfic for this ship, bc the thrillery side of the movie is soooo fun and also wtf is Jae Ha's deal. But if you think the two of them could work it out and be somewhat functional, go for it, I'd be curious to see what you'd come up with.

Some prompts:
-Give me! That! Obsessive behavior! I want Jae Ha reading every article every published about Young Woo online (or offline, for that matter) and offering verbose and critical thoughts on the opinions of forum commenters. I want Young Woo actively stalking Jae Ha (probably wearing a face mask to go incognito if in public) and breaking into his house. During the time frame of the movie but also after the time frame of the movie, maybe even waaaay after the time frame of the movie, after they've long lost contact and they shouldn't even be thinking about each other anymore and they mutually assume "oh, he's forgotten all about me (which means I am safe to stalk as I please)". And of course Young Woo's resentful of Hee Won and of course Jae Ha's resentful if there's the slightest rumor that Young Woo's been dating anyone else. They are never getting over this and they are not going to be normal about it.
-After the beach date disaster, Young Woo goes mysteriously missing and everyone thinks Jae Ha knows something about it (possibly killed him?). Jae Ha has maybe been seeing Young Woo but he also may be hallucinating him and is beginning to doubt his own sanity. (...Young Woo may perhaps be pulling a slow gaslighting scheme here.)
-What if Young Woo kidnapped Jae Ha?????? No further thoughts here just. What if.
-You  need to consider the fact that the end of the movie is only the OPENING NIGHT of Unchained. That's right, they still have to do this whole show about a million more times before it's over. How on earth are they going to cope???
-Some nice chain kink, with Young Woo or Jae Ha tied up and both of them being very into it. The chaining up may or may not be consensual (see above: what if Young Woo just kidnapped Jae Ha, and honestly vice versa). They may or may not make out; I'm also here for bondage UST where they're just practicing bondage for play purposes and staring deeply into each other's eyes or what have you.
-Young Woo and Jae Ha meet up post-canon. Young Woo is dating someone else now, but they still end up making out/hooking up. Give my boy a chance to be the one cheating in this relationship >:D
-Young Woo post-canon constantly talking about Jae Ha in interviews and Jae Ha having to deal with it. Always in a rather ambiguous way that gives ~just enough hints~ to keep the paparazzi and all Young Woo's fans wondering. Where does this end? Does Young Woo finally make a public declaration of love that brings Jae Ha's life crashing down on him even more than it already is? Does Jae Ha finally confront Young Woo and try to shake some sense into him only for it to backfire? Who knows.

Art ideas:
-There are so many cool aesthetic scenes in this movie. Lying on the roof together. The photo shoot. Laughing on the beach. Feel free to play off any one of them.
-Chain bondage ;)
-Jae Ha grabbing Young Woo or towering over him, as he sometimes does during practices.
-Young Woo being perhaps a little creepy... a little spooky... while Jae Ha looks freaked out. (It's Halloween month!)

The King Eternal Monarch (2020) - Jo Yeong/Jo Eun-sup

I'm just a big fan of Woo Do-hwan, okay? Two Woo Do-hwans at the same time: What could be better? Also, they should make out.
More seriously, I think the contrast between the two Jos is interesting and makes you think a little about what is essential to them at heart versus what might be more nurture than nature. I also think Jo Yeong has a bit of a vain streak, while Jo Eun-sup can be a little cocky but also a bit insecure and could use some self-cest to bolster him. Also. They're just so cute omg. I cannot stand the fact that they are separated by entire worlds. Bring the boys back together, I say!

Some prompts:
-Jo Eun-sup remembering Jo Yeong. This could be because he never forgot for some reason, or because of magical flute shenanigans, or because Jo Yeong finds some way to remind him... doesn't matter much to me, but give me some post-canon with Jo Eun-sup who remembers his hyung.
-AU where, when the worlds are separated again, either Jo Yeong is stranded in the Republic of Korea or Jo Eun-sup is stranded in the Kingdom of Corea. What does this mean for the future of the stranded individual, and for the two as a couple?
-Lee Lim captures either Yeong or Eun-sup and the other Jo has to come rescue them (perhaps with some backup from Gon or Tae-eul). Whump and hurt/comfort very welcome!
-Jo Yeong tries to teach Eun-sup to be more like himself, perhaps for espionage purposes or perhaps just for his own vanity's sake. He doesn't expect Eun-sup has some things to teach him too.
-Eun-sup trying to explain to friends and family not in the know why his boyfriend looks exactly like him.
-AU where Yeong and/or Eun-sup encounter evil!Jo version from another universe. Maybe someone gets captured or nearly killed. Maybe they redeem him with the power of love (and have a threesome?). Idk I'd just love to see more Jos. All the Jos of the multiverse.
-Building off that, if you want to add in additional Woo Do-hwan characters to the mix, I'm familiar with Save Me, Bloodhounds, My Country the New Age, and Mad Dog, so feel free to crossover if you so wish.

Art ideas:
-Doppelganger art. I mean, it's obvious, but just... ppl looking in the mirror or mirroring each other's posture. But with enough differences to tell which is Yeong and which is Eun-sup.
-Guns and swords and horses!
-Cradling each other angstily while the other appears to be on the verge of death.
-I like Eun-sup's fluffy hair a lot, so feel free to keep it even if you're drawing some part of the show where he really should have cut or styled it.

White Christmas (2011) - Choi Chihoon/Park Mooyul, Jo Youngjae/Park Mooyul

This is an all time favorite fandom for me. Park Mooyul, disaster "good boy" that he is, is a bit of a little black dress for me here - I could probably ship him with anyone. Today, however, I'm requesting him with Choi Chihoon or Jo Youngjae, two rather different ships.

Choi Chihoon/Park Mooyul:
This ship is probably the most obvious. I love the one-sided rivalry going on here, and the fact that despite this the two basically seem to respect each other from the beginning. Then Park Mooyul pushed Chihoon off a cliff, omg! Then he saved Chihoon's life! I really loved Chihoon and Mooyul's brief attempt to take down Oh Junghye and Kim Yohan before they were recaptured, too, especially the standoff with Chihoon and the empty gun. ("Does an empty gun make you feel safe?" Chihoon asked. Little did he know he would soon find out the answer to this question.) In general when they're scheming together, things are very fun. I also loved the scene when Chihoon thought everyone should run away during the search for Yoonsu and tried to communicate this solely by looking at Mooyul intensely. Poor Mooyul's not telepathic, Chihoon! (Also, the fact that Chihoon was staring at Mooyul specifically in his telepathy attempt, even though he was partnered with Jaekyu because he trusted Mooyul to get it... which did not work out lols.) Also, Mooyul doing his doctor thing with Chihoon's broken leg! Just, there's a lot of good content.
Chihoon in general is an interesting character to me bc despite the fact that he has low empathy (and little emotion in general, though not quite none), he still has a strong grasp of morality and does his best to help the team. Being logical doesn't make him selfish or a jerk, though it does occasionally make him insensitive. Also, his great plans! Also, his smirks. These are all good things.

Some vague prompts:
-Kim Yohan playing Chihoon and Mooyul against each other. Maybe some dub-con along these lines? Or just Kim Yohan putting the two in a situation where they'd be at odds--e.g. manipulating Chihoon into making a choice that makes him seem heartless, or making Mooyul feel inferior to him in that way that activates his jealousy thing.
-Mooyul being protective of Chihoon, or Chihoon being protective of Mooyul. Or the two taking care of each other in some way. (This can range from studying together to sick fic to "I need your help hiding a body" lols.)
-Mooyul's mixed feelings for Chihoon not being solely rivalry but also angsty pining that eventually erupts into him frustratedly grabbing Chihoon and making out with him! Possibly this somehow occurs instead of the fight on the snowy cliff? Or maybe after Mooyul discovers that Chihoon isn't fucking dead.
-Chihoon realizes that people touching Mooyul makes him calm down, and so starts touching him when he gets angry or scared or sad. This slowly escalates; he also eventually realizes that actually, most people touching Mooyul does not calm him down, and it might just be that Mooyul likes him.

Jo Youngjae/Park Mooyul:
Youngjae's feelings towards Mooyul seem kind of mixed in the show--he listens to Mooyul's plans and seems to respect him, but Mooyul is also the first person he names when he's telling the doctor how everyone acts like they're better than him. It's also really interesting to track Mooyul and Youngjae's interactions in relation to violence. In the first three episodes, Mooyul is constantly stopping Youngjae's fights. He stops Youngjae from beating Kangmo up, pulls Youngjae off Yoonsu at one point, and even rescues Youngjae from Kang Mireu's righteous wrath. But in the second half of the show, it's quite the opposite: Mooyul seems to be the one who thought of confronting Kangmo with sticks (though it's unclear), and barely holds Youngjae back during that pursuit, and eventually Mooyul and Chihoon are the ones who incite the group to murder Kim Yohan. Mooyul goes from holding Youngjae back to pushing him forward. I find both dynamics interesting, and they make me wonder how Mooyul might have related to Youngjae in the past, and how he might relate to him in the future.
But also, Youngjae is a very sad boy and Mooyul is kind of a reassuring person, so maybe h/c? Hm.

Some vague prompty things:
-Hurt/comfort: Youngjae gets hurt and future-doctor!Mooyul helps him. Youngjae talks to Mooyul about his insecurities, how he thinks he's the worst, and Mooyul may or may not be reassuring. Mooyul gets hurt or in danger and Youngjae finds the strength to help him. Post-canon recovery fics.
-Youngjae says to Eunsung at one point, "I hated you for dating Mooyul; I hated you for breaking up with him." Uh, there's definitely more than one way to interpret that statement! Maybe some Youngjae pining for Mooyul (possibly pre-canon) and thinking he's out of his reach bc he's dating Eunsung? Then seeing how he's hurt when Eunsung breaks up with him? Or... something along those lines?
-We don't see whether Mooyul ever found out Youngjae almost got Kim Yohan to kill Eunsung. How would he react if he did find that out? Would he feel betrayed? What if Youngjae tells him he wanted Eunsung dead bc then maybe Mooyul would like him? What if Mooyul erupts into sexy rage? Basically any way this scene would go would be interesting to me.
-Youngjae just forcing Mooyul to make out with him bc he's in delinquent mode, he likes Mooyul, and he kind of wants Mooyul to hate him.
-Post-canon, if these two associated, would they discourage or encourage each other's violent impulses? What would the others think of their relationship?

Art ideas for both:
-White Christmas is a very stark show visually. Snow, dark clothes, and all those huge windows and winding staircases. If you can pull in any of that aesthetic in any way, I'll be happy to see it.
-These boys are so troubled and if you want to draw them just snuggling or being happy together or having a snowball fight, I'm up for it.
-But also. LET THEM FIGHT AND STRANGLE EACH OTHER AND PUNCH EACH OTHER. the duality of man.

That's all I've got tonight. Looking forward to seeing what you make :D

Clem & Wist Series - Hiyodori
Requesting Asa Clematis and Wisteria Shien

The Clem and Wist series is a fantasy series with a central f/f couple. It is on Amazon and KU. You can see the main series here (four books). There is also a prequel you can find here.
The premise: In a country where mages hold hierarchical supremacy and healers exist only to serve them, the healer Clem has been in prison for years for revolutionary activities. Then the government calls her in to heal the most powerful mage of the era, who happens to be her old school friend, Wist... who also betrayed her and is the reason she's currently in prison.
That's the first book! Later books go into Clem and Wist's ~magical adventures~ facing off against everything from magical anomalies to the terrible government to straight up monsters to secret societies.
It is a four (or five, if you read the prequel) book series, but if you want to get into it and don't have time to read the whole series, I'm happy to receive a fic based only off book one. Some of my prompts below are based off books 3 and 4, but not most of them.

Some prompts:
-Different first meeting between Clem and Wist, perhaps with Clem already the fearsome magebreaker facing off against a Wist who represents the oppressive system to her (and learning that Wist is different). Maybe they fight! Maybe Clem kidnaps Wist for ransom! Maybe they keep fighting in a superhero/villain manner and it seems likely Wist is letting Clem go on purpose, hmmm...

-Competence porn with Clem or Wist doing something that other healers or mages would find impossible.

-Exploration of what Clem and Wist's first life was like.

-I know time travel has Consequences, but since Clem and Wist like to fuck around with it anyway--Clem time traveling to Wist's childhood and witnessing her trauma (and maybe saving her from it).

-Soulbond stuff. All the canonical soulbond stuff is already so good, with dub-con soulbond formation and soulbonds being made and broken and telepathic communication and so on and so forth, and I just want more of that. Maybe an AU where Clem and Wist form a soulbond in a different way (perhaps still something chaotic or traumatic, perhaps not) or where (angst angst angst) one of them is soulbonded to someone else and they're still pining for each other.

-Wist's feelings on seeing Clem heal other mages; does it fascinate her? Is she sometimes jealous? (I'd especially love to see her getting possessive if other mages want to bond with Clem either before they've bonded or in an AU where they aren't bonded.)

-Book 3 related - More Queen of the Void content! I'd especially love to see more interactions between the Queen of the Void and brainwashed Clem, it was such a different dynamic for those two. But the Queen of the Void and rebellious, scheming Clem is also good.

-Book 4 related - Clem is all like "we can't have sex bc we can't touch each other :(" and I would love to see them working past that. Creative problem solving ;)

The Deal
Requesting Lee Jun-seong and Park Min-woo

The Deal is an 8-episode kdrama. You can watch it on Viki.
The premise: Two friends down on their luck kidnap a rich former classmate for ransom. Of course it ends up going off the rails.

I watched The Deal last year (and rewatched it this year) and completely ate it up. Perfect show full of whump and angst and tension. My fave is Lee Jun-seong, but Park Min-woo follows close behind him. I also do love Song Jae-hyo, though I'll admit it's a love-hate relationship at times! If you kill Song Jae-hyo off in your fic, that is okay, as it is canonical; however, if you want to spare him, I would be happy to see it! For this show I shipped all three main characters in every configuration--Jun-seong/Min-woo was my OTP, but I also shipped Jun-seong/Jae-hyo, Min-woo/Jae-hyo, and Jun-seong/Jae-hyo/Min-woo. So if you're planning on writing a ship fic, any of those ships is good in my book :D :D :D

Some prompts:
-Just in general any kind of whump or hurt/comfort.

-Jae-hyo and Jun-seong successfully leave the country together! Until some time later--maybe even years later--Min-woo tracks them down. I'm not sure whether I want a whole squad of men in black following him here or just him showing up alone for a quiet conversation. Either way, Jae-hyo has spent quite a while thinking Jun-seong's a murderer, so that's one element in play; their Bonnie and Clyde dynamic begins to develop some cracks, and Min-woo is here to break it wide open.

-AU where Min-woo finds out that Jae-hyo betrayed Jun-seong to the debt collectors because I don't think he ever actually learned about this in canon and I feel it would have pissed him off. Bonus points if despite this, Jun-seong somehow convinces him to let Jae-hyo live. (Maybe Min-woo was originally going to kill Jae-hyo super fast as per canon but now was slowly torturing him and was going to let Jun-seong kill him but Jun-seong didn't want to?? Idk.)

-For some reason I keep picturing time travel for this fandom. Like, if Min-woo could Peggy Sue back in time to the night he was kidnapped, what would he do then? Would he just kill Jae-hyo and Jun-seong on the spot? But he does say he can't kill Jun-seong! If he just refuses to meet them, what will happen to Jun-seong and Jae-hyo? Would he be able to stand just never seeing them and not knowing or would he want to find out and spy on them and interfere in their lives/get vengeance for things that never happened? Would he save Jun-seong from the debt collectors or let events take their course? (...what if he time traveled back but it was too late and he was already fuckign kidnapped lol)

-What if Min-woo is some kind of magical creature? On the one hand, this is why he's worth such a high ransom--he's from an old magical family/clan, a rare magical being, etc. On the other hand, it makes him a terrible kidnap victim (if he's a vampire, he keeps asking to be fed blood; if he's a werewolf, now they have to hide a wolf in the closet and he keeps almost biting them; if he's half-dragon, he keeps almost burning the house down, etc etc).

-I'd love any fic with the canonical kidnapping set-up but also I'd love to see Min-woo pull a reverse on Jun-seong and/or Jae-hyo post-canon and kidnap them right back, whether for revenge or out of some kind of obsession. Maybe he wants to prove he's better at kidnapping, even! I just want to see Jun-seong get tied up I think it would be interesting.

-Post-canon, Min-woo seeking Jun-seong out and reuniting with him. I know he said they should never meet again but I kind of got the sense he said that only after he saw how shaken Jun-seong was by everything, and maybe he really did want to become friends afterwards but felt it was something he shouldn't want. Let Min-woo get some closure! (And maybe a now-ex-con boyfriend.)

For the Emperor
Requesting Lee Hwan and Jung Sang-ha

For the Emperor is a 104 minute Korean movie. It's a bit hard to find; I think it's technically on Amazon Prime with subtitles but you have to jump through some hoops. However, it is quite good and worth a watch.
The premise: Former athlete gets involved in a gang. A lot of the movie centers around his relationship with the gang leader, who becomes something of a mentor to him. Lots of knife fights.

What can I even say about Hwan and Sang-ha. What a mess. The knives, literal and metaphorical. The possessiveness and control. The angst. The tragedy. The loyalty and the betrayal. If you haven't guessed it, I do ship them, very much so, but I am also open to gen, and very open to whump or hurt/comfort, as is fitting for a gangster movie.

Low Life
Requesting Oh Hee-dong, Oh Gwan-seok, and Yang Jeong-suk

Low Life is an 11-episode kdrama. It can be watched on Hulu or Disney Plus
The premise: A bunch of shady dudes (swindlers, thieves, and the like) set out to retrieve sunken treasure (pottery from the 1300s) from the Yellow Sea. Squabbling, backstabbing, and other disasters cause everyone's plans to quickly go awry.

I'm requesting Oh Gwan-seok, the leader of this shady operation, Oh Hee-dong, his young and relatively innocent nephew, and Yang Jeong-suk, the wife of the man who's financing them (and arguably the brains behind said rich man). You don't have to include all three characters, but please at least include Oh Hee-dong and one of my other requested characters.
Ship-wise, I enjoy Hee-dong and Jeong-suk's dynamic, but I'm not too picky. I'd also be up for shipping Hee-dong with Seon-ja, Jeon-chul, Beol-gu, probably anyone else you can come up with. Or poly combinations thereof. And I'm also interested in gen fic.

Some prompts:
-Oh Gwan-seok seems to care a lot about Hee-dong, but he is also pretty blasé about using him: sending him into dangerous waters, pimping him out to Yang Jeong-suk, getting him into a life of crime in general, and so on and so forth. What other ways would he be willing to use Hee-dong or put him at risk? And in what situation would he actually become protective? I'd love to see someone messing with Hee-dong on the job and whether or not Gwan-seok would do anything about it... just how far does his ruthless side run?

-If you're in a fix-it mood, I'm up for seeing ppl survive who died in canon. Yang Jeong-suk, most obviously, but also, poor Hee-dong keeps watching ppl get murdered. What if he was able to actually save someone? (What would the consequences be, given that the two most obvious candidates here would probably turn against Oh Gwan-seok and the squad afterwards?)

-For some reason I would love to see Hee-dong and Jeong-suk in an OT3 with someone else. They have multiple love triangles going on, after all. Let Jeong-suk become the sugar mama/sponsor for BOTH Hee-dong and Seon-ja! Let Jeong-suk believe that she and Seon-ja are both having Hee-dong's child and get WEIRD about it! Alternatively, Hee-dong/Jeong-suk/Jeon-chul could be interesting; Jeon-chul didn't love hearing about Hee-dong and Jeong-suk sleeping together but he seems to want a connection with Hee-dong sometimes (or at least his protection) and I believe he could be won over. In either situation, btw, very fine with the OT3 being a trashy dysfunctional mess or something more wholesome, whichever you prefer.

-More Yang Jeong-suk/Oh Hee-dong dub-con in general. What if Jeong-suk makes Hee-dong stay with her for the duration of the treasure hunting expedition as a sort of hostage? What if hearing about Hee-dong and Seon-ja's supposed relationship only makes her want Hee-dong more in a maybe spiteful sort of way? What if Hee-dong has to work a little harder to get Jeong-suk to lend him that money? Meanwhile, Hee-dong is not thrilled about the situation or comfortable with Jeong-suk in ANY way but Gwan-seok or his own circumstances keeps pushing him into it...

-What if Yang Jeong-suk cared a little more about Jeon-chul's murder? I'd love to see her trying to get the truth out of Hee-dong (and possibly Gwan-seok), or seeking revenge on them. Although he did cheat on her, so it would also be interesting seeing her seeking out the truth without any intention of vengeance, just wanting to at least understand what happened.

-Let a girl commit a successful murder! What would happen if Yang Jeong-suk did manage to kill her husband? How would that impact the treasure hunting squad? How would it impact a Jeong-suk/Hee-dong relationship?

-Any kind of fic delving into the antiquing/pottery/deep sea diving aspects of this show are also very welcome. I don't know much about any of these things but I enjoy some technical detail sometimes.

Black Out: Goh Jeong-woo/Hyeon Geon-oh (Fic)

I love Geon-oh begging Jeong-woo for forgiveness and how Jeong-woo is kind and patient with him even while he wants to demand answers and explanations. Jeong-woo spends the whole show trying to get people to help him uncover the truth, and Geon-oh is the only person who is implicated by the truth but still willing to help him, to the extent that he would be willing to sacrifice himself. These two are both such sad and whumpable boys... I want them to make out but also I want them to just support each other and, you know, survive!

This fandom is an exception to my DNW of suicidal ideation, as Geon-oh being suicidal and self destructive is a pretty major character element. Geon-oh is also an alcoholic, so feel free to include that, but I would rather the fic not focus on his alcoholism or on an attempt to get sober. Mentioning it is fine, I just don't want the whole fic to be about it.

Some ideas:
-Literally any Geon-oh lives!fic. Suicide prevention would be great, whether by talking him down or by him just ending up in a coma instead of dead bc someone got to him in time. Just a fic where he's not dead.
-What if Geon-oh went to visit Jeong-woo in prison? Would Geon-oh reveal anything to him, or would he be too scared/controlled by his father to speak out? Seeing Jeong-woo in prison is bound to fuck with him either way (especially if Jeong-woo had recently been beaten up or something), while Jeong-woo would probably be ridiculously happy to see any of his friends other than Deok-mi.
-What would Su-oh's perspective be on a relationship between Jeong-woo and Geon-oh? It would be fun to see a developing relationship from his POV. Does Geon-oh confide in him? Does Jeong-woo ask questions about Geon-oh behind his back? Does he ever third wheel on their dates? They're kind of a trio pre-canon, so I'd be curious to see it.
-I'd love to see Geon-oh and Jeong-woo protecting each other bc they really do need protection. From being threatened with guns, being hit over the head with flowerpots and bottles, and even being kidnapped and locked up... They are very Endangered and they need someone to protect and comfort them with all the threats coming their way. I'd especially love this if whoever is attacking them wouldn't expect the other to really care enough to step in (e.g., why should Geon-oh be protecting a murderer? or why should Jeong-woo get involved in the Hyeon family's business?).

Daemuga: Ma Seong-jun/Son Ik-su (Art or Fic)

For Ma Seong-jun and Son Ik-su, I'm intrigued by the weird power dynamic between them. Ma Seong-jun is basically holding Son Ik-su back with the strength of bravado but is terrified by him; Son Ik-su speaks scornfully of Ma Seong-jun but also says to watch him and puts a lot of faith in his abilities. And they spend a lot of time in each other's company. It's a dynamic wide open for manipulation, dub-con, blackmail, threats, violence, kidnapping, all kinds of bad stuff, and I'd love to see any of that. At the same time, I think Ma Seong-jun is catnip to people with daddy issues (see: Yoon-hee looking to him for protection, Chung Dam looking for approval--both things they lacked from their fathers) and Son Ik-su has a TON of daddy issues. If he could key into that and poke Son Ik-su just the right way without making him explode (or, idk, making him explode the right way) then he could probably have a pet gangster on a leash lols. But I'm not sure he would ever figure that out.

Some fic ideas:
-I love the kidnapping hotel. What if Son Ik-su were to store Ma Seong-jun there for a while? Maybe to break his will, maybe just to get him out of the way pre-canon during the time they were at odds. Or maybe just out of pure obsession ;D
-I also love Shin Nam's era in the kidnapping hotel and him eavesdropping on Son Ik-su talking about Ma Seong-jun there. What if Son Ik-su brought Ma Seong-jun to the hotel, maybe to look at Shin Nam and see if he can bring his consciousness back? What kind of conversation might Shin Nam overhear between them? Or, if you want to go fullblown nonconsensual voyeurism, I'm here for that too.
-I love Ma Seong-jun's face paint. What if Son Ik-su does too? Or, what if Ma Seong-jun were to crossdress, as shamans sometimes do?
-Son Ik-su has a lot of unresolved business with his own father. What if he wanted Ma Seong-jun to channel him for a conversation? Would Ma Seong-jun be able to do it? (I can't even imagine which outcome would end in Son Ik-su more pissed off--on the one hand, he doesn't tolerate failure, but on the other hand, there's no way that reunion is going to go smoothly.)
-Son Ik-su is the kind of guy who decides he owns an entire section of the city and will beat you up if you either hang out there or try to move. How possessive or controlling does he get when he decides a person is his territory?

Some art ideas:
-Ma Seong-jun in the face paint and shaman get-up <3 <3 <3
-Art of the scene where Son Ik-su knocks Ma Seong-jun down and beats him up! (it's shippy to me.)
-Art of their umbrella-holding stand-off pre-canon the night of the murder
-Any art of Son Ik-su casually menacing Ma Seong-jun or looming over him ;)

The Deal: Park Min-woo/Lee Jun-seong, Park Min-woo/Lee Jun-seong/Song Jae-hyo (Fic)

I simply love those Stockholm/Lima Syndrome vibes. And whump, and manipulation, and power play. There's so much potential to play with!
I'm stealing prompts from old letters here and kind of squashing prompts for the two ships together... feel free to take any of these prompts and use them for either ship as you wish :D

Some fic ideas:
-On the smutty side of things, what if the loan sharks wanted Jun-seong to pay his loan off by becoming a sex worker instead of taking his organs? (...and what if one of his customers down the line turns out to be Jae-hyo and/or Min-woo?)

For the Emperor: Lee Hwan/Jung Sang-ha (Fic)

What can I even say about these two. What a mess. The knives, literal and metaphorical. The possessiveness and control. The angst. The tragedy. The loyalty and the betrayal. I am very open to whump or hurt/comfort for these two, as is fitting for a gangster movie. But also fix-it fic, because glld;odfihdsds;idsfodhfdkfj

Some ideas:

New World: Jung Chung/Lee Joong-gu, Lee Joong-gu/Lee Ja-sung, Lee Joong-gu/Kang Hyung-chul (Fic or Art)

Fandom specific DNW: Killing off the characters in the main ship during the fic. If you want to imply they're going to die in the future, that's okay; if you want to kill off one of the characters in these requested ships, it's fine as long as that's not the ship you're focusing on. (E.g. it's fine to kill off Jung Chung if it's a Lee Joong-gu/Lee Ja-sung fic, but please don't if it's a Jung Chung/Lee Joong-gu fic, at least not during the fic itself.)

I've watched this movie twice in the past year, and it is quite good! My favorite character is predictably Lee Joong-gu (yes, I just love Park Sung-woong) and I'm pretty much up for shipping him with anyone. Feel free to include multiple of these, even, if you want to; I just want to see Lee Joong-gu involved in some shippy business.
As a side note: dub-con and non-con are fine for any of these ships, going in either direction. As is general toxic behavior! These are simply not nice people lol.

For Jung Chung/Lee Joong-gu: It's all about the rivalry! The love-hate and the banter and the almost hitting each other with a car! Also, these two don't trust each other and yet Lee Joong-gu still appears to feel really betrayed when he thinks Jung Chung would actually turn him in to the police.

Some ideas:
-Did Jung Chung actually kill the old chairman like Lee Joong-gu seems to think? If Lee Joong-gu found out for sure that he did, what would happen then?
-Jung Chung says at one point that Lee Joong-gu is in an eternal puberty. Where did he get this idea? (...is Lee Joong-gu just constantly horny around him? Are they secretly in a relationship and constantly fucking??)
-Instead of trying to kill Jung Chung, Lee Joong-gu has him kidnapped, and when he gets out of prison, he goes to deal with him ~personally.~
-Canonically, we see Jung Chung kicking ass in a knife fight, but we never actually see Joong-gu fight physically. Which of them would win in a fight between just the two of them? (Would love one of them holding a knife to the other one's throat!)
For art: I'd love to see something adversarial. Holding each other at knife point, confronting each other in the car scene. Or any type of sexy menace :D :D

For Lee Joong-gu/Lee Ja-sung: These two honestly don't interact much in canon. But I'm a strong believer in my fave/the main character ships and this is one of those. Joong-gu originally sees Ja-sung as just Jung Chung's underling, but by the end he's able to guess that Ja-sung is the one sending men to kill him and the one who will win the board election (he doesn't for a minute imagine it will be Jang Su-ki, for example) and even congratulates him from a distance.
...yeah, that's about all the justification I can muster. I just think it would be hot!!

Some ideas:
-What if Ja-sung holds Joong-gu captive instead of trying to kill him, and brings him under control as his subordinate now that he's been elected chairman? (Maybe with some dub-con or non-con as part of the process of persuasion--or as punishment for killing Jung Chung.)
-What if Joong-gu was using Ja-sung as a double agent spying on Jung Chung? (Except that Jung Chung knew and Ja-sung was reporting it all to him (except that really Ja-sung was reporting everything to the police).) Just make this whole espionage tangle even more complicated! (And perhaps some conflicts of loyalty if Ja-sung grew to like Joong-gu?)
-What if Joong-gu tried to seduce Ja-sung just to piss Jung Chung off bc he's Jung Chung's underling?
For art: Again, any kind of confrontation, holding at knife point or the car scene is fine. Maybe art involving the identity porn aspect--Ja-sung covering Joong-gu's eyes, or Joong-gu reading papers that reveal Ja-sung's identity, or Ja-sung in a police uniform? Or art of Joong-gu's death scene (being surrounded on the couch) except now Ja-sung's there along with his men (and maybe it's shippy?).

For Lee Joong-gu/Kang Hyung-chul: I just think there was mad sexual tension here. The fuckign glares and smiles they throw at each other. The insults and banter. The implication that they've gone through this song and dance of Kang trying to get dirt on Joong-gu over and over again. The way Kang absolutely plays Joong-gu with those photographs. There's a lot going on.

Some ideas:
-Lee Joong-gu tells Kang Hyung-chul at one point that he woke him up a bit late for a booty call when Kang wants to meet him in prison. What if it actually was for a booty call?
-How did Kang and Lee Joong-gu first encounter each other? Or what kinds of conflicts have they gotten into in the past?
-What if Kang tried to get Joong-gu to turn on others in the gang in the past (especially Jung Chung) and Joong-gu rejected him?
-In terms of non-con/dub-con, maybe Kang Hyung-chul abuses his authority once he has Joong-gu in handcuffs or behind bars--and maybe he's done this in the past too, and that's why Joong-gu is so personally hostile towards him.
For art: There are some fun confrontation scenes in canon you could draw. I'd love to see Joong-gu handcuffed or otherwise restrained while Kang is being all smug. Maybe Joong-gu being arrested at the restaurant, or Joong-gu in prison? Or a ~clandestine meeting~ between the two.

Dear Yuletide Writer,
My fandoms this year are all Korean thrillers I got into in the past year, two movies and a miniseries. None of the three are especially long if you're looking to get into something new. Also none of the three currently have more than five fanfics on AO3 so I will be very excited to see whatever you write for me!!!!!! Let's get into it :D :D :D :D :D

If you are a pinch hitter or otherwise interested in picking up a fandom here you did not match on, some brief information:

Daemuga is a Korean movie of about an hour and a half long, a supernatural thriller comedy about three shamans and a gangster. The easiest place to watch is probably Viki.

For the Emperor is a Korean gangster movie with a central mentor-subordinate relationship and a lot of knife fights. It is available on Amazon Prime.

The Deal is a 2023 Korean miniseries about two friends who kidnap a third acquaintance sort of on impulse in order to get a ransom. The kidnapping goes wrong pretty much immediately. It is eight episodes long, and is also available on Viki.

...also, it feels weird to specify this, but yes, I am open to receiving treats :D ;)

Daemuga: Requesting Ma Seong-jun

I love Ma Seong-jun so much! He really ranges from pitiful to grandiose, from sly to sincere, from theatrical to mundane--he's all over the charts. In general, I ship him with either Son Ik-su (in a more dysfunctional way) or Chung Dam (in a friendlier but possibly rivals-to-lovers way). I also like a more platonic dynamic with the two shamans as a trio, and I like him having an it's-complicated vibe with Yoon-hee that isn't quite shippy. I would prefer not to focus on his alcoholism as central to the fic but you can bring it up if necessary, as it is part of canon and does inform his character.

Here are some possible fic ideas:
-More ghost/ritual related shenanigans, possibly involving the other shamans as well as Ma Seong-jun! Maybe Ma Seong-jun is trying to communicate with an angry spirit this time, or after performing daemuga, a spirit refuses to leave his body. Maybe he or one of the other shamans encounters a ghost connected to them personally. Maybe an old client gets back in touch, someone he doesn't want to work for again for one reason or another... basically case fic :D

-For Ma Seong-jun and Son Ik-su, I'm intrigued by the weird power dynamic between them.

-I like Ma Seong-jun and Chung Dam's back and forth, and how Chung Dam has a little crisis after Ma Seong-jun calls him a mutt. How Ma Seong-jun finally ends up respecting him and saying it was good working with him and Shin Nam. I like to imagine all three of them meet up post-canon sometimes to gossip about shaman business. But especially Chung Dam and Ma Seong-jun. Also, I'd be curious about a rivals to lovers AU where these two get to know each other a bit more slowly, combatting skills little by little before the final showdown.

-Yoon-hee and Ma Seong-jun make me crazy. I love how he does everything he can to protect her, and ultimately, she too protects him. He supports her emotionally and legally while she is more able to protect him physically. I would love to see more of that dynamic play out in the future, perhaps when she gets out of jail (I imagine she does a lot of jailtime, but what if she didn't?). I would love to see her fight a ghost for him, while he talks to her about complicated emotions and helps her deal with lawyers and legal struggles and getting parole. I would also love to see more of how they see each other. To me, I didn't really see them as a couple; I know Son Ik-su calls her Ma Seong-jun's girlfriend but he's the only one to do so and he seems to be mocking; meanwhile, the two of them never kiss and do not appear to live together. Anyway, whether canon meant their relationship to be romantic or not, I read it as platonic anyway. But how exactly do they see each other? They've seen each other's most vulnerable and ugly moments, yet they seem to have a kind of idolization of each other. How far would they go for each other, and what might the consequences of that be?

The Deal: Requesting Lee Jun-seong and Park Min-woo.

I watched The Deal this March and completely ate it up.

Some fic ideas:

Idk.)

Let Min-woo get some closure! (And maybe a now-ex-con boyfriend.)

For the Emperor: Requesting Jung Sang-ha and Lee Hwan.

What can I even say about these two. What a mess. The knives, literal and metaphorical. The possessiveness and control. The angst. The tragedy. The loyalty and the betrayal. If you haven't guessed it, I do ship them, very much so, but I am also open to gen, and very open to whump or hurt/comfort, as is fitting for a gangster movie.

Again, I'm looking forward to seeing whatever you write for any of these three fandoms! Happy Yuletide!!!

Dear Trick or Treat Writer,

I haven't done an exchange in a hot minute! But here I am, back again, with all new fandoms, this time all Korean thrillers. Three are movies, one a miniseries, so if you want to pick any of them up, none of them are particularly long--even the miniseries (The Deal) is a bit less than eight hours.
If you notice a recurring theme with the movies I'm requesting (like maybe the fact that Park Sung-woong's in all of them), no, no you didn't. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

I am requesting only fic for my main gifts; however, if you are making an extra gift, art is very welcome! I particularly like limited color palettes and high contrast, or black and white sketches/pen and ink. Since it would be an extra gift, although I am requesting ships here, feel free to draw just one of the characters if you're so inclined. But if you're drawing something shippy, I love scenes of characters fighting or having moments of conflict, I love kabedon, I love people being held at gun or knifepoint, and I love bondage. On a fluffier note, just characters hanging out is good, or kissing each other. Or, what if a character was holding a cat??? My only real art DNW would be explicitly sexual art, as in, I don't want art showing characters' genitals.

The Deal (2023)
Requesting Lee Jun-seong/Park Min-woo, Lee Jun-seong/Song Jae-hyo, and Lee Jun-seong/Park Min-woo/Song Jae-hyo
The Deal is an eight-episode miniseries about two friends who spur-of-the-moment kidnap a highschool acquaintance with a rich, powerful family. The kidnapping goes very badly. The vibe is toxic friendship and Stockholm/Lima Syndrome. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys such things.

My fave in this fandom is Lee Jun-seong and I generally ship him with both Jae-hyo and Min-woo! Very up for seeing both good and bad things happen to him, both whump and fix-it scenarios. My specific prompts here are all pretty mundane but if you want to go supernatural, more power to you.

Trick Requests:
-In general, I'd like to see Jun-seong and Min-woo get whumped and/or be angsty. They're very whumpable and stressed out ppl.
-Non-con and dub-con are fine for all of these pairings.
-Mind games and manipulation. Jae-hyo and Jun-seong trying to break Min-woo's will as a kidnap victim so he won't report them, or Min-woo trying to guilt trip them or turn them against each other.

Treat Requests:
-Everyone lives!fic
-Jae-hyo and Jun-seong really do leave the country together, making a successful getaway. What then? Does Min-woo ever catch up with them? Do they ever return to Korea? What sort of life lies ahead?
-Jun-seong being nice to Min-woo during the kidnapping, some form of hurt/comfort
-Post-canon, Min-woo seeking Jun-seong out and reuniting with him.
-On the smutty side of things, what if the loan sharks wanted Jun-seong to pay his loan off by becoming a sex worker instead of taking his organs? (...and what if one of his customers down the line turns out to be Jae-hyo or Min-woo?)

Daemuga
Requesting Ma Seong-jun/Son Ik-soo, Ma Seong-jun/Chung Dam, and Ma Seong-jun & Chung Dam & Shin Nam
Daemuga is a movie about three shamans who each use a ritual called Daemuga: The Great Shaman's Song. The three are also entangled with the schemes of a local gangster, not to mention one of them goes missing.

My fave for this fandom is Ma Seong-jun! I ship him with Son Ik-soo and Chung Dam, but I also love seeing him hang out with Chung Dam and Shin Nam as a platonic shaman trio. I'd love to see fic about them having shaman adventures or gangster adventures, or exploring the relationship dynamics between them.

Trick Requests:
-Obviously a great fandom for ghosts and evil spirits and the like! Maybe the shamans as a group come up against a ghost or a spirit that's hard for them to handle. Maybe one of them gets badly possessed and the others have to work to exorcise him. Maybe they come across a ghost connected to one of them personally, or a ghost that bears them a personal grudge... the possibilities are endless!
-I love the dynamic between Ma Seung-jun and Son Ik-soo, and I think it's easy to twist it in dark directions. Seung-jun is obviously intimidated by Ik-soo and trying hard not to show it; Ik-soo is willing to beat the shit out of him if he loses his temper. Whump or threats or blackmail would be easy to work in, or dub-con or non-con. Given that Ik-soo is holding a murder over Seung-jun's head, it would be pretty easy to make him do whatever he wanted.
-More people getting trapped in kidnapping hotels! Rescue missions, maybe, or Seung-jun being brought by Ik-soo to visit Shin Nam (would he try to save him or bring back his senses, or just try to get the hell out?), or maybe even Seung-jun or Chung Dam being trapped there instead of Shin Nam. Just kidnapping hotels in general! They're so creepy and so fun.

Treat Requests:
-Supernatural business, but make it fun shenanigans???
-I love how Seung-jun bullies Chung Dam (and also Shin Nam a little, but especially Chung Dam, it's kind of shippy lol). In the end he respects him, but before then he completely drives him crazy, calling him a mutt etc. I'd love to see more of that messy dynamic, Seung-jun's arrogance and Chung Dam trying to hold onto his dignity and some rivalry developing there.
-In my head, postcanon, the three shamans sometimes get together to exchange shaman tips and tricks and gossip. Would love to see anything along these lines.
-I'm not sure how you would make Seung-jun and Ik-soo wholesome but I would love to see it. Maybe Ik-soo is trying to prove he's a changed man to avoid prison time and he's doing doing community service or something? and so keeps running into Seung-jun bc Seung-jun is A Pillar of the Community? But he has to try to get along with him in a nonviolent fashion bc of reasons? Speaking of which, I would love to see how Ik-soo and Seung-jun got to know each other originally, back when Seung-jun was opposed to the redevelopment project and they were butting heads. It must have been... interesting.

For the Emperor (2014)
Requesting Jung Sang-ha/Lee Hwan
For the Emperor is a movie about a young man who gets involved with loan sharks (...with one loan shark in particular). He embarks on a corruption arc of ambition and knives. Also that one loan shark in particular gets highly possessive of him, but their relationship is #itscomplicated.

For this fandom I'm just requesting the ship Jung Sang-ha/Lee Hwan bc that's what I'm really here for. What an interesting and dysfunctional duo! They've ruined each other's lives but they also try to protect each other. I'd love to see any kind of shippy fic but also with the gangster set-up it's a great fandom for whump. I also can easily see supernatural AUs for this fandom (vampires and ghosts especially).

Trick Requests:
-This is a great fandom for obsession/possessiveness. Obviously Sang-ha has some, with sending away Hwan's girlfriend and generally trying to control his life. I'd love to see that go further. But what about Hwan? Does he feel any possessiveness or obsession back towards Sang-ha?
-Vampire AU! What if the "old man" that the loan sharks are working for is a vampire? I like to imagine an AU where Sang-ha served him as a sort of thrall or found blood sources for him, but Hwan dreamed a little bigger and got himself turned... and preys on Sang-ha in turn.
-Non-con and dub-con are fine for this fandom.
-Any kind of whump relating to Cutter or any other rival in the loan shark industry attacking Hwan or Sang-ha could be fun! Or internal feuding. Stabbing, people getting kidnapped or tortured... there's lots of fun gangster potential.
-It's never decided whether Hwan killed Sang-ha's subordinate or not. What if Sang-ha decided he did, and punished him for it? (And did Hwan really do it, or not?)
-How about some ghosts? I don't really want Sang-ha or Hwan becoming ghosts unless it's temporary (like they're in a coma or something) but what if they're haunted by people whose deaths they've caused and one or both of them can see ghosts... I'm sure they've caused plenty of deaths ;)

Treat Requests:
-The flip side of possessiveness is protectiveness, and Sang-ha and Hwan are definitely protective of each other. I'd love to see them take down an enemy for each other (is that too dark for a treat???) or just defend one another in conversation in public.

Method (2017)
Requesting Jae Ha/Young Woo
Method is a movie about a middle aged method actor and a young idol who are working on a play together and, through method acting, fall in love and start an affair. But the method actor is married and the idol is an idol, and also, with the lines between reality and fiction blurred, it's hard for either of them to tell what's really love and what's a lie.

For this fandom, I'm only requesting tricks, although I'm open to treats as additional gifts. This is because while I do think Jae Ha and Young Woo have their sweet moments, I love their relationship most when it's at its most dysfunctional, so I'm hoping to get some fic that reflects that side of it, the thrillery side! Obsession, mind games, maybe some gaslighting... I'd also be open to any kind of supernatural elements you want to throw in.
In regards to Hee Won - I'm fine with Jae Ha and Hee Won getting a divorce postcanon or during the canon timeframe, or fine with them staying together and him and Young Woo still having a ~sordid affair~. I would prefer them not to be in a healthy polyamorous relationship or never to have been married at all, as I think Jae Ha cheating on her is pretty significant to his character. If you'd rather not go into that, feel free to just not bring her up.

Trick Requests:
-Give me!
What if.
-Jae Ha and Young Woo are caught in a time loop of the play (and possibly the rehearsals as well? maybe it starts from when they first met, or maybe just the opening night, idk, whatever you want) and their relationship just keeps on getting more chaotic. (Do they both have memories? Does only one have memories? Does it seem at first that only one has memories but it turns out later that they both have memories? IS THERE ANY WAY TO END THE LOOP AND GET OUT?)

Overall Thoughts:
On a final note, I would just like to say none of these fandoms has very much fic at all on AO3 so!!! Whatever you write will be very welcome and I will be happy to see it!!!!!! I'm very excited for this exchange!!!!!

convenientalias: a painting i did a while back :) (Default)
Hi Yuletide Writer! I'm so excited this year to see what you'll make for me. Once again I am requesting Asian drama fandoms, some small and some nonexistent. I'm including some general prompts, but they're definitely optional. They're just ideas I have if you're looking for somewhere to start.

Circle: Two Worlds Connected
Requesting: Kim Woo Jin and Lee Ho Soo. You don't have to include both.

Circle is a 12-episode sci-fi kdrama about missing brothers, aliens, and memory-erasing technology. It's a bit hard to chase down online with English subtitles, but I believe you can watch it here. I love it for the angst! The lost memories angst, the trying to hunt down brothers angst, everything.

DNW: Bum Gyun/Woo Jin.

Some ideas:
-Woo Jin and Bum Gyun's life pre-canon. Bum Gyun obsessing over aliens before landing in jail, Woo Jin perhaps trying to moderate his behavior unsuccessfully. The angst when Bum Gyun ultimately does land in jail.
-Woo Jin and Joon Hyuk's life post-canon. How does Woo Jin integrate into a society twenty years advanced from what he remembers? How does he deal with being a clone--any identity crises going on there? Does Joon Hyuk actually start a bakery? Are they entrenched in a legal tangle with the collapse of Smart Earth (needed as witnesses against Human B, for example)? What's up with that possible new alien sighting? This is a show where I would enjoy either angst or fluff or both in this area.
-The utter weirdness that has to be Byul and Woo Jin's relationship post-canon. They say these two are reverting to their 2017 selves, but that time has passed--Byul is older now, with many new experiences, and while Woo Jin is the same he also literally isn't Woo Jin. I would love something exploring their non-apparent age gap, or Byul telling Woo Jin about what she's been up to since he's been gone.
-A Lee Ho Soo/Joon Hyuk fic. Ho Soo seducing Joon Hyuk for information during the time he's working for Human B. Explosions of angry sexual tension. The two of them commiserating over lost memories--or maybe Joon Hyuk finding technology in Human B that could return his, and Ho Soo supporting him through the process. Ho Soo dissing Joon Hyuk's baking skills. Joon Hyuk trying to convince Ho Soo to not wear literally only white (he's seen him in black, he knows it looks good). Or for more angst, what if Ho Soo really did have his memories of Joon Hyuk erased when he was taken in by Smart Earth security?
-Any fic about Lee Ho Soo's amnesia angst, for that matter. About his tragic lost love, about how remembering her changes him as a person. About how his loyalties shift, little by little. (Renegade Lee Ho Soo is a special love of mine, both the "sabotage Joon Hyuk" version and the "now I wear black and kidnap Human B employees" version.)
-A Woo Jin lives fic! Cuz, you know, it's kind of a bummer he died! Does he manage to escape Human B and go on the run with Byul or into hiding with the comatose Bum Gyun? Does he still end up in a coma and only awaken twenty years later? Does he get captured by Human B and endure twenty years as a lab rat/computer part? Does Professor Park convince him (perhaps violently) that it's really for the best if he joins up with Human B... and maybe he really does become the chairman? It's up to you! Maybe the clone's still around too, and there's just two (or more) Woo Jins. Maybe this could lead to self-cest. The possibilities are limitless.
-Being honest I would also love ghost!Woo Jin haunting the shit out of Human B and occasionally appearing to his brother to be supportive.

The King's Affection
Requesting: Crown Prince Lee Hwi | Dam-yi

The King's Affection is a 20-episode historical kdrama. You can find it on Netflix or here. It's a show about a woman who has been disguised as her twin brother, the crown prince, since a young age. If anyone finds out she's a woman, she will be killed. On a background of political intrigue, she falls in love with her tutor. I love this show for both the political intrigue and the genderfuckery, and am requesting the crossdressing crown prince herself!

DNW: A focus on Lee Hwi finding masculinity unnatural or dysphoric.

Some ideas:
-Off the bat, I should say I love Lee Hwi's genderfuckery and am fine with however you interpret her gender. I go back and forth between she/her and he/him pronouns when talking about her (I will use she/her pronouns in this letter for clarity and convenience), and am fine with you using either. If you see her as a trans man or as genderfluid or nonbinary, I'm very up for it. Personally I tend to interpret her as nonbinary. However if you like to write her as a cis woman, that's also good! I'd rather not focus on the idea of masculinity being unnatural to her, though, since from my point of view she takes to it pretty naturally. Angsting over being forced to abandon all femininity and having to hide her identity, however, is fine.
-I would love to see a fic where Lee Hwi doesn't leave the court post-canon like she does on the show. Maybe in this AU she stays at court as Lee Hyun's advisor, or maybe they change the laws so that a woman (or a trans man, if you want to go there) really can be king. She's spent half her life studying politics and governance, and she's a good ruler when she's not being puppeted by her grandfather. Give her a chance to use her skills!
-For that matter, any political intrigue fic would be very fun.
-What if Lee Hwi's grandfather found out she was a woman but still decided to keep her as king, seeing her as his best option to stay in power?
-One of Lee Hwi's big problems is that she can't have sex with Noh Ha-kyung without revealing her secret, and she's under a lot of pressure to provide an heir. I'd love to see Lee Hwi revealing her secret to Noh Ha-kyung (or getting found out earlier on)... and perhaps they do consummate the marriage? Or perhaps they come up with some alternative option for providing an heir (sex with a surrogate father, perhaps?). Or both?
-Ship-wise, I ship Lee Hwi with Jung Ji-un and Noh Ha-kyung. Shipfic about either of them is welcome :)
-Any kind of identity porn fic would be great. People finding out Lee Hwi's identity sooner or in different ways. Lee Hwi successfully hiding her identity through close calls. In particular, I'd be interested in Lee Hyun finding out Lee Hwi's identity later than in canon--how would he react if he found out more in the current time frame of the show?
-Lee Hwi being badass! I love seeing her rescue Jung Ji-un. More of that! Or her rescuing someone else (Noh Ha-kyung, maybe, or Lee Hyun, or her little brother). Or her just destroying someone. I enjoy seeing her be both a badass fighter (with swords and bow and arrow both) and seeing her be badass at court. Just, Lee Hwi being competent.
-I'd love to see a fic where the original Lee Hwi survived. If he remained crown prince, what would Dam-i's life be like? Would she and OG Lee Hwi still swap places? Would she still be involved in political intrigues at court? Alternatively, what if the OG Lee Hwi vanished and was supposed dead, but showed up during the time frame of the show? Would he be used against the crown prince as a pawn, or seek her out and be able to help her? Would he want to take Lee Hwi's place--and would Lee Hwi be willing and able to let him? I think there are a lot of possibilities here, and in general I love Lee Hwi as a sister/brother; fic about her relationship with her younger brother (and him surviving the show!) would also be great.

Mr. Sunshine
Requesting: Eugene Choi

Mr. Sunshine is a 24-episode historical kdrama set in the 1900s. It's about a man who left Korea as a boy, who returns many years later as an American diplomat. Korea is in a difficult situation politically in this time period, with many countries (Japan and the US being the major players in this show) trying to gain control over it. The show follows several characters who have conflicted relationships with their country, and shows them becoming more invested in Korea's independence. You can watch it on Netflix, or here.
I'm requesting Eugene, the Korean-American main character! One of my favorite things about the show is his feelings on both the USA and Korea. He says many times that he is an American now (and takes full diplomatic advantage of this fact) but ultimately gets very invested in fighting for Korea at Go Ae-sin's side. Also, he's just so damn shippable.

Some ideas:
-A day in the life at the American embassy. Eugene doing politics. Discussing politics with Kyle. Do Mi and the interpreter getting up to shenanigans. Minister Allen being a bitch. All that good stuff.
-Anything about Eugene's thoughts on his American or Korean identity. Or both. Both is good.
-Eugene/Gu Dong-mae. After reading Ae-sin's letter, Dong-mae says he will kill Eugene if he ever sees him with another piece of paper in his hand; I would love to see this kind of confrontation happen. Or Dong-mae realizing Eugene can't read Korean lols. Alternatively, something from around the time Eugene saves Dong-mae from prison. Alternatively, just anything delivering some raw foe yay, especially if it involves either character getting whumped.
-Eugene/Kudo Hina. Poor Hina never really had a chance with Eugene, but I'd love to read a fic where she did. She's so shady and politically adept, she could advise him in a lot of circumstances. And her dad matchmaking her with him would also be good--what if he had some way to make it stick? Or at least what if circumstances made it convenient for Eugene and Hina to pretend they were courting... and then, who knows what might transpire ;)?
-Eugene/Kim Hui-seong. Everything about this ship is beautiful to me. Hui-seong trying so hard to flirt with Eugene across balconies. The tragedy of falling for (or at least kind of wanting to get along with!) someone and then discovering your grandfather killed their parents. The classy side of me wants bittersweet fic with Eugene and Hui-seong finding common ground or maybe hooking up before they know who each other are; the trashy part of me wants Hui-seong trying to apologize for his family's misdeeds via sex. In general anything about these two being a hot mess would be beautiful.
-Eugene/Go Ae-sin. Obviously this ship is canon. It is very cute and I like it. I like Eugene and Ae-sin being comrades and fighting the good fight together, Ae-sin confronting her pre-held beliefs on social class, the impossibility of them actually being together, the dream of running away together to America, their differences in opinion that grow smaller as they get to know each other and change as a result. Also, Ae-sin freaking out when Eugene doesn't respond to her letter and shoving him against a wall. Fic that deals with any of this would be lovely. I would prefer not pure fluff but some fluff would not go amiss; angst is also good.
-Any poly combination of Eugene, Dong-mae, Hui-seong, Kudo Hina, and Ae-sin would be great too.
-Eugene/Kyle Moore. I don't have very deep thoughts on this ship I just like their Late Night Conversations, and also their lunchtime conversations, and all their other conversations. They're good friends and I like them.
-Any of these ships, I'd also be interested in reading gen fic about. The relationships interest me whether romantic or platonic :)
-I also ship Eugene with almost everyone else in the show so if you actually shipped him with idk, Hwang Eun-san or Theodore Roosevelt or something, sure, we can go with that.
-I'd love some hurt/comfort. Eugene is such a stoic guy; what is it like when he lets down his guard and allows someone to help him? Alternatively, Eugene comforting someone would be great, especially someone who doesn't quite trust him. He's such a strong protective presence.
-...that's the comfort side of things, but also. Would I like to see Eugene get whumped? Yes. Very much yes.

Xiang Long
Requesting: Long Xiang and Bai Lusheng. Please do include both.

This is a 20-episode historical cdrama. You can watch it on Youtube here. The basic plot is that Bai Lusheng's family is killed and he seeks help from the Long family; when the Long family rejects him, he disguises himself as Long Xiang and begins drumming up support to go take revenge. Long Xiang finds out what he's doing and captures him. After they get to know each other a little, Long Xiang becomes obsessed with Bai Lusheng and forces him to stay with the Long family. Bai Lusheng eventually warms up to Long Xiang as well, and they get involved in some feuds between powerful families.
I'll be honest with you: It's. pretty bad. But! If you like toxic bromance, high on slashiness and whump, this show has both in spades.

Some ideas:
-The show ends without Bai Lusheng getting his revenge! I would love to see that happen. Let Bai Lusheng destroy the people who killed his family! Long Xiang can help, hopefully, but I'm fine with him being useless in the background as well.
-Ship-wise, I like Bai Lusheng/Long Xiang and Bai Lusheng/Long Xiang/Ya Ya, though I see both relationships as pretty unhealthy. I also like Long Xiang and Bai Lusheng's relationship as platonic or found family.
-Generally anything with Long Xiang holding Bai Lusheng prisoner would be good. I love that aspect of the show. Maybe it's post-canon, and a furious Long Xiang hunts down Bai Lusheng, who dared to think he could just leave! Maybe it's during his initial canonical captivity, and Long Xiang's initial obsession is just starting in, and he's still trying to test Bai Lusheng and figure out how the dude works. Or maybe some AU scenario where the Long and Bai families are enemies and Long Xiang captures the Bai family's young master. I just love the Stockholm/Lima Syndrome vibes these two have going, and Long Xiang's possessive nature.
-AU where Long Xiang meets Bai Lusheng while the Bai family is still alive (or in an AU where they survive). There's some difference in personality between Bai Lusheng in canon, the traumatized loner bent on revenge, and the young master of the Bai family. How would their egos clash? Would Long Xiang still become unhealthily obsessed, or would the more equal power balance help to put their relationship on a more stable footing? I'd love to see Bai Lusheng provide a role model for Long Xiang as a more responsible family heir--though Long Xiang is probably not going to take it very well if anyone tries to lecture him...
-Any kind of post-canon reunion scenario would be good. I mentioned above I think Long Xiang will be displeased at Bai Lusheng vanishing. Does he hunt Bai Lusheng down, or does Bai Lusheng successfully escape him? What if Bai Lusheng is the one to seek him out, years down the line? Maybe he misses Long Xiang after a while, or maybe Long Xiang ends up in some disastrous mess and needs Bai Lusheng to come rescue him.
-Arranged marriage AU: Bai Lusheng and Long Xiang are engaged to form an alliance between their families. Obviously Long Xiang isn't going to be happy about any kind of marriage... but maybe his mind changes when he meets his intended partner ;)
-This ship is a dark one, so I'm fine with whumpy content for it. Canonically there's plenty of torture, manipulation, and abuse. I'm fine with all of that. Dub-con and non-con are also fine for this ship. And honestly I'm okay with major character death if it's Long Xiang bc he kind of deserves it lols. (Maybe Bai Lusheng can avenge him? unless he's the one doing the killing.)

Well, that's all from me! I'm very curious to see what you come up with. Hope your Yuletide goes well :D !!!!

And once again it is Yuletide! It's me, ConvenientAlias on AO3. (Also convenientalias on tumblr.) I'm requesting Asian dramas again this year, some with fandoms smaller than others. All of which I love and am very excited to receive fic for.
I'm listing some general likes and some more specific prompts, but don't feel constrained to write what I've prompted. These fandoms are very small and dear to me, and I'm intrigued to see what you'll come up with.

Hi, writer/artist! I'm very excited about this exchange :D. Captivity tropes in general are some of my favorite things; it's very hard to go wrong with them for me.
Don't feel the need to be too particular about the freeforms I'm requesting--you can focus on them, or make them incidental if you have other captivity-related ideas for the characters in question. As for the relationships, feel free to mix and match dynamics, to make them central or less central... as long as there's captivity and the characters are there, I'll probably be happy.
All the canons I'm requesting this time around are a bit obscure, so I'll include some details on what they are/where to find them in case you're interested in picking them up.
Note: my art-related thoughts are much less coherent/complicated than my fic-related thoughts. Please bear with me.

Hi, Chocolatier! This year I'm requesting some Asian dramas with pretty small fandoms. So it'll be interesting to see what you make for me :) these fandoms don't have a lot of content, so I'll be pretty excited over anything.

It's Yuletide again :) This year I'm requesting Asian dramas bc that's what I've been into all year (and so many of them are such small fandoms lols).
I'm giving some general likes and basic prompts, but please take the prompts as just suggestions if you want direction. These fandoms are all really really really small so I would love to see your take on them no matter what you want to write.

Until recently, I haven't had enough Asian fandoms at once to do this exchange, but this year I've been really really into Asian dramas, and so here I am. Requesting some pretty small fandoms tbh, so I'll probably be delighted with whatever you write :)
Some of the fandoms will have more/longer prompts than others. That's largely bc some of them I'm just requesting more characters or more prompts came to mind; please don't take it as a sign of preference.

Thought I'd make this post before the year actually ends, because I doubt the stats will change before then. Books I read in 2019! I read a total of about 125 books (having set a goal to read 100). Having moved back home, I had easier library access, and without a ton of reading homework, I was reading more books that I just wanted to read for my own reasons.

Some brief stats:
My most read authors were Cole McCade (14 books read), Georgette Heyer (6 books read), Hildred Billings (4 books read), Mary Renault (3 books read) and Honore de Balzac (3 books read).

For Cole McCade, I was primarily reading his Criminal Intentions series, a series of thrillers with an m/m romantic subplot. I'd strongly recommend the series; it's very dramatic and I've gotten attached to all the characters. For Georgette Heyer, I was reading some of her historical romances, the best of which was probably These Old Shades.  I enjoy her plots but I do think her characterization falls a little flat, and her stories don't have all that much tension. Hildred Billings is a favorite f/f romance author of mine, discovered last year, but while last year I was reading her standalone novels, this year I mostly was reading her Ren'Ai Rensai series. But while I read 4 of her backlist books this year, she wrote about 15 more.... yeah, I'm never going to catch up to her.

Those were the more romantic authors I was reading, while Balzac and Renault were a bit more... literary, I guess you'd say? I was reading Renault for an academic project before graduating (which caused a lot of drama tbh). She wrote a lot of books set in ancient Greece, many focused on queer characters. I also read three of her books towards the end of 2018, so I was on more of a binge than the three books I read this year would indicate. As for Balzac, I wanted to try the Comedie Humaine, so I read three of those novels. For some reason I'm kind of in the mood for 1800s French literature--this year I also read The Count of Monte Cristo and Toilers of the Sea, all after I graduated so none for class purposes.

I've also been on kind of a kick with historical fiction, though it's winding down a bit now. I read 28 historical novels, though some were also romances or mysteries.

The best books I read this year were, in roughly the order I read them:
  • Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison--Really a huge postmodern mindfuck at times, and also a great look at racial issues. When I finished reading it, I was like... fuck... that happened... and kind of wandered around in a daze. I will probably have to reread it to actually get some parts.
  • The Criminal Intentions series by Cole McCade--as mentioned above.
  • The Mask of Apollo and The Last of the Wine by Mary Renault--Really good historical fiction looking at some events in ancient Greece. The politics! The philosophy! The queer romantic subplots! Basically they're excellent.
  • The Winter Prince by Elizabeth Wein--This book is either YA or MG, and it's a story about Arthurian mythos, all things I've sworn off, but for some reason I still really liked it. It's really dark and fucked up and I guess I was loving the angst and hatred and reluctant familial love.
  • Paper is White by Hilary Zaid--Really good lesfic novel about family, committing to a partner, and Jewish heritage.
  • Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston--I mean? It's a classic? I don't really know what to say about it but it was really good.
  • Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner--This is another one that I assume you've already heard of but anyways, fantasy of manners in a world with honestly the worst code of honor involving swordsfighting. The OTP is so good! I'd heard it was good queer content but still liked it better than I expected.
  • A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine--Sci-fi political intrigue with amazing worldbuilding. Also pretty queer. But my favorite thing was the fact that in this world you kind of share your head with your predecessor, whose memories you inherit? It was a cool concept.
  • These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer--I mentioned this book above too, but basically it's got the most fun protagonist. She's this cross-dressing page who eventually becomes her love interest's ward and helps him with a revenge plot. Didn't really like the romance that much actually but Leon(ie) was so fun that I loved it anyways.
  • In This House of Brede by Rumer Godden--A book about a businesswoman who becomes a nun, though it's not just about that woman, it's kind of about the whole abbey community. I haven't read a book about nuns in a long time if ever. What's especially interesting about this book is the way Godden writes it somewhat out of chronological order and also jumps from one character to the next all the time--at first it's confusing but once you adjust to it, it's an interesting way to show the connections in the community and the way it's separated from the rest of the world.
  • The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling--Really good horror, definitely made me feel claustrophobic and a little bit paranoid.

They were good books!
So... that's about it. Just thought it would be fun to write a blog post kind of summing my year in reading up. Obviously I was reading a lot of other books too, but it's no use getting into literally all of them. If you've read or plan to read any of these books or authors, I'd love to discuss them :)
And as the New Year arrives, these are my plans:
-Try to keep up with classics even though I've graduated.
-Read some KU books, because I just got a very cheap two month KU subscription.
-Try to read more of authors I've read one or two books by, to see if I like their other work.
-Do more rereading, because this year I mostly read books that were new to me.

Hey Chocolatier! I'm very excited to see what you write for me. This year I'm really only requesting ships that I'm very into right now, so I'll be delighted by basically anything you come up with. Some ships might have less prompts than others, but that's more an indication of how many ideas I had about them than how much I want them. I'm currently very into all these fandoms <3

 Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hi! I'm pretty excited for Yuletide this year. I have a number of prompts for each fandom, but please see them as optional and do what you like :) I'll be excited to see what you come up with.

Shipping thoughts: A lot of my requests will be shippy. But if I mention liking a character combination as a ship, I'll probably be interested in gen for those characters as well. I'm also a huge multishipper, so if I haven't DNW'ed a ship, I'm probably okay with it. I ship femslash, het, slash, poly, whatever. If I'm requesting an alternate ship for a person who is with someone else in canon, I'd be fine with 1) an amicable break up, 2) an AU where they're not together, or 3) an open relationship. Additionally, I quite like dark fic, so unless I say I prefer a ship to be sunshine and flowers, feel free to go with a dark take on it if you wish.

I found a really fun little prompt meme for femslash!

two women, both wearing gowns and flower crowns, smiling at each other. next to an image of crescent moon with a star hanging off it says: sapphic september ficmeme

You go over, you comment what ships/characters you'd be willing to write, and ppl prompt you. If you wanna write, or if you wanna prompt me (or try to find someone else who writes your ships), you should check it out!

Hi guys, it's been like a month since I last linked to my fics here. Since then I wrote a fic or two for the Just Married Exchange, but that's not revealed yet ;) so I thought I'd update on the other fics I've written in the meantime.

After Arnes Hours--200 words, Shades of Magic, Holland & Vortalis

in case you need a cover--300 words, Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight, Futaba/Claudine

Take me baby (or leave me)--1000 words, Miraculous Ladybug, Chloe/Marinette

puzzle--232 words, Queen's Thief, Eddis/Sophos

things you said when you thought I was asleep--688 words, POTO, Erik/Raoul

A Shelby Shave--1502 words, Peaky Blinders, Tommy/Freddie Thorne

travel necessities--300 words, Tea Dragon Society, Greta/Minette

as per the contract--2590 words, Peaky Blinders, Tommy/Alfie Solomons

So a lot of shorter stuff. Three femslash ficlets, one het, one gen, three slash. So my resolution to write more gen is out the window, and hopefully I'll get back to it at some point.

I'm still working on a multi-chapter Umbrella Academy fanfic and have spent the last month procrastinating on the ending haha. And you'll see me linking the Just Married fics, which are kind of longer, in a little while.

 Dear Author or Artist,
I'm excited about an exchange that works for the tiny, tiny fandoms and ships! Whatever you write or draw for me will probably make me very happy; prompts are very very optional. Let's get into it!
(Letter is currently a WIP)

So apparently I haven't posted here about any fics I've written since March.
.......I have written quite a few fics since then.
Since I was before then vaguely trying to keep this journal updated, I'm making a post here of all the fics I've written between April 1 and July 3. I don't know how many that will be yet, but we'll see. Since it's probably gonna be hella long, I'm not giving the summary as usual, only title, word count, and ship. Organized by fandom, including Alpennia, Animorphs, ATLA, Great Gatsby, Henry IV, Inception, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Kado: the Right Answer, Les Miserables, A Memory Called Empire, Naruto, Nero Wolfe, The Perilous Gard, Phantom of the Opera, Queen's Thief, Sense8, The Servant, Stranger Things, Swordspoint, The Umbrella Academy, and the Zenda novels.

.....okay.
So.
Some brief stats:
A total of 32 fics by my count. Nine of these are ficlets of 1000 words or less. Five of them are 3000 words or more. The rest are 1000-3000 words.

Femslash: 15
Het: 2
Slash: 10
Poly: 1
Gen: 4-ish.

Hm. I think my goal for the next couple months will be to write more gen, maybe. I feel like I don't write as much of it as I'd like. Also maybe some longer fics. Anyways, yeah, that's what I've been up to.
