convenientalias Until recently, I haven't had enough Asian fandoms at once to do this exchange, but this year I've been really really into Asian dramas, and so here I am. Requesting some pretty small fandoms tbh, so I'll probably be delighted with whatever you write :)

Kim Woo Jin, Kim Joon Hyuk & Kim Woo Jin, Kim Joon Hyuk/Lee Ho Soo. Requesting fic.
This show really got to me--so much of it is sad, especially the brothers' longing to reunite (which even in the end is not quite satisfied). Woo Jin was probably my favorite character, but I was also very invested in Lee Ho Soo's journey from "Smart Earth isn't shady" to "even if it is shady I want my dystopian mind control just how it is thanks" to "guess I'm a rebel now, fuck the government/Human B", especially as that journey involved his relationship with Kim Joon Hyuk.
Some vague prompts:
-For Kim Woo Jin: I was pretty sad about the ending, so a fic where Kim Woo Jin lives (possibly to meet his clone? possibly in an AU where the clone thing never happens?) would be very nice. If he lives, does he go back to his brother? Go on the run? Get captured by Human B? What would happen to him? Alternatively, Kim Woo Jin the ghost haunts Human B until its eventual destruction. Alternatively, a fic about Kim Woo Jin pre-canon trying to balance his life--work, school, his grandmother, etc--or about some other type of canon divergence, or maybe his clone (who is also sort of him? idk) having an identity crisis.
-For Kim Joon Hyuk & Kim Woo Jin: Give me brothers searching for brothers and wondering where on earth their brothers could be, and/or being reunited but still not being able to relax bc Human B's still out there wreaking havoc! Or, pre-canon Kim Woo Jin and Kim Bum Gyun--what was their relationship before Bum Gyun went to prison? Woo Jin clearly worried about Bum Gyun's paranoia, while Bum Gyun thought Woo Jin wasn't worried enough about aliens, but what else? Alternatively, some peaceful or angsty post-canon fic with these two moving on with their lives together. Or the weirdness of Kim Joon Hyuk sort of being twenty years older than Woo Jin now. Or literally anything, I just love their dynamic.

What if Human B really did suppress Lee Ho Soo's memories of Joon Hyuk when they captured him? What if Lee Ho Soo is forced to decide whether or not to betray Joon Hyuk before getting his memories back? Or, more canon compliantly, will these two keep up with each other post-canon? How will their lives change?

Ming Tai/Wang Tian Feng, Yu Manli/Ming Tai/Guo Qiyun. Requesting fic.
I love this canon in general but the content I am looking for is the Ming Tai/Chongqing ships lols. I love all three of these characters shipped with him but in pretty different ways! Guo Qiyun is the most solid and normal of them, but Ming Tai still teases him a lot and Guo keeps secrets from Ming Tai too bc his primary loyalty is to the higher-ups. Yu Manli is probably more loyal to Ming Tai than to anything or anyone else, and Ming Tai is loyal to her too, even if canonically at least he doesn't fully reciprocate her romantic feelings, and I love the tension between them that results from having so much closeness but still some imbalance. And then there's Wang Tian Feng, whose relationship with Ming Tai is, well, a straight up trash-fire BUT I DO LOVE IT THOUGH.
Some vague prompts:
-For Ming Tai/Wang Tian Feng: Honestly anything fucked up for this ship goes; I wouldn't object to non-con or dub-con if that's where you want to take it, or even major character death (I'm waiving the DNW here). Anything about the way Wang Tian Feng can completely manipulate and control Ming Tai (and Ming Tai might even know he's being manipulated but ultimately can't do anything about it) or about the mild Stockholm Syndrome that went down at that spy camp. Alternatively, Wang Tian Feng getting too attached to someone he plans on using for a death plan from the beginning and having many regrets but not quite enough. Or Wang Tian Feng surviving to post-canon--how could he escape the situation he was in? How would Ming Tai react to seeing him again after Wang Tian Feng got Yu Manli and Guo killed? Alternatively, Ming Tai having feelings about watches (especially the watch from his dear and slightly hated and possibly dead mentor).
-For Yu Manli/Ming Tai/Guo Qiyun: One of those "we could die at any time so let's drink/have deep conversations/hook up tonight" deals. Or, one of the three gets captured or hurt during a mission and the others have to rescue or take care of them. Or, Yu Manli and Guo have been conspiring behind Ming Tai's back and he can tell and gets weirdly jealous and then they make out about it. Or, Yu Manli and Ming Tai make a bet on who can seduce Guo first bc they're both assholes like that. (Ming Tai cheats by using the Ming Family Money and treating Guo like a sugar baby but Guo has a hard time getting that the flirting is real bc Ming Tai is also just this extra all the time.) Or, fake dating/married for a mission. Or, Ming Tai introduces his team to his family. Or, Guo and/or Yu Manli live and we see where the relationship might go post-canon with Ming Tai joining the Communists (and possibly getting married to boot). Or basically anything else with that good team energy! I love a slightly dysfunctional team so much!

Anye Luo, Dao Liexiang, Die Yi, Feng Huang, Lei Jinghong, Xun Yi, Yi Lang, Yu Zihan. Requesting fic.

I love the jianghu intrigue of this show, and I love the whump. But most of all I love the complicated webs of relationships, some romantic and some platonic, some positive and some negative. ...which is how I ended up with a very long list of characters to request lols.
Some vague thoughts for each:
-Anye Luo: His obsession with Anye Ming is... interesting to me. I'd like a fic where we see this affecting his relationship with Lie Ruge, maybe. What if Anye Luo had successfully stolen a baby the night Anye Ming and Zhan Feitian died, and raised it to be an evil Dark River kid? (I'd love a fic with this prompt that's more focused on Lie Ruge or Zhan Feng too.) Alternatively, a glimpse at how Anye Luo went about corrupting Zhan Feng pre-canon, talking him over to his side. Or, I could also go with some badwrong shippy fic, either with him and Zhan Feng or Lie Ruge, or with Yu Zihan (bc him holding Yu Zihan prisoner was a good if brief time).
-Dao Liexiang: Liexiang's relationship with Lei Jinghong is all over the place and I love it. Innocent mischievous flirtations! But also, drugging your lover so that he'll agree to marry into your sect, and of course the general angst of Jinghong having killed Liexiang's brother and Liexiang's family having killed so many of Jinghong's sect members. Alternatively, Liexiang and Zhan Feng and the awkwardest marriage ever--do they ever talk? Does Liexiang put literally any effort into their relationship or does Zhan Feng or are Liexiang's maids more invested in this marriage than anyone else? Or, on a less romantic note, I'm very interested in Liexiang's relationship with her sect and her brothers, especially Dao Wuxia. So anything about Liexiang feeling conflicted between "I hate Dark River and Anye Luo" and "I love my brothers" is good.
-Die Yi: Literally any Die Yi lives fic would be just lovely. I'd especially like to see how she and Lei Jinghong would adjust to the revelation that they actually aren't siblings--I feel like maybe they'd continue to be honorary siblings regardless bc they just get along that way. Or, something about Die Yi and Zhongli Wulei maybe? There's a rather large rank difference there and I'm a little curious how Lie Ruge's handmaid charmed a rather older hall leader to the point that she could basically say jump and he'd ask how high.
-Feng Huang: I can't stop loving her relationship with Lei Jinghong. Romantic or platonic, either way is fine, but there's so much loyalty and love there. Feng Huang came for the "maybe Jinghong will be the leader of a strong sect" and stayed for the "actually I just like Jinghong now". So yeah, anything about Them. But also. I feel like I would enjoy Feng Huang shipped with other ppl also? Like, the obvious alternate choice here is either Feng Huang/Dao Liexiang or Feng Huang/Dao Liexiang/Lei Jinghong, which would be great, but also--Feng Huang/Feng Xixi? Maybe? or Feng Huang/Huang Cong?
-Lei Jinghong: I kind of already talked about his relationships with Die Yi, Feng Huang, and Dao Liexiang above--yeah, anything about those guys is great! And I'll talk about him and Xun Yi below. But, if you don't want any of that, Lei Jinghong is also my I-would-ship-you-with-anyone character. He proposed to Yin Xue when they first met and then talked him into helping him stay at Flaming Hills--a great shippy dynamic. He tied up Youqin Hong--maybe a less great shippy dynamic, but still my sort of shippy dynamic! If you can find some way to ship him with literally anyone (Zhan Feng? Yu Zihan? Lie Ruge? Ji Jinglei?) I will take it. Or, if you don't want to ship him with anyone, I am really intrigued by his dynamic with Anye Jue. He's very suspicious of her from the beginning, but the first time we see them meeting, their fighting seems mostly playful and they don't really try to hurt each other. And Anye Jue says herself she raised him as her son and doesn't want to see him get killed or badly hurt. So.... backstory on their familial relationship? AU where Anye Jue manipulates Lei Jinghong into joining Dark River or takes him captive so he won't get hurt? I would take anything about their weird not-really-mother-son dynamic.
Also any kind of whumping of Lei Jinghong is good.
-Xun Yi: I want to know the complicated tangles of Xun Yi and family relationships! How much did the child Xun Yi understand of what went on when she was given to Flaming Hills? Does Xun Yi want a good relationship with Anye Jue, even knowing she's kind of evil, or is it more like she ended up with Dark River by duty and default (and a little blackmail)? Does she want a familial relationship with Lei Jinghong? Did she and Lei Jinghong ever hang out when they were kids? And then there are her Flaming Hills relationships--almost killing Lie Ruge did a number on her, so how did she feel in the aftermath? Would it be possible for her and Ji Jinglei to get back together now, or not?
-Yi Lang: Tbh I mostly am requesting him in hopes of some villainy. He is imo the best villainous gloater and general creep on the show and I am into that. Probably the best targets for his villainy would be Zhan Feng (there was the whole hanging Zhan Feng in chains thing) or Zhongli Wulei (the clear jealousy, the Die Yi murder and his awful gloating at Zhongli Wulei's misery afterwards, etc etc). But if you want to set him on someone else, go for it. He was gloaty about Ji Jinglei being blind for a while there. He also did capture Yu Zihan and was kind of a smug jerk about it. This boy has great whumper capacity and exercises it as often as possible. If you want to write Yi Lang not being literally the worst, idk, you could write his backstory with Lie Mingjing, how he was taken in and why he ended up the mess he is now. Or something about his Ping'an mom, or his weird relationship with Dao Wuxia.
-Yu Zihan: While Yu Zihan's pining for Lie Ruge is a large portion of his character motivation, I'd rather not get a fic focused on that (though some in the background is chill). How about Yu Zihan trying to bond with his brothers--both his royal brothers and his martial brothers--with mixed success? How about some whump? I could go for some sickness (Chill Spell or other) or for Yu Zihan during his time in Anye Luo's dungeon, or any other bad thing--just Yu Zihan being sad in general. Alternatively, if you can think of someone to ship with Yu Zihan who is not Lie Ruge, go for it; I have a hard time thinking up such things bc he's so closed off, but maybe someone could get to him. Or, courtly intrigue or battlefield adventures.

Choi Chi-hoon, Jo Young-jae, Kang Mi-reu, Park Moo-yul, Yoon Su. Requesting fic.
DNW: Any of the kids becoming a serial killer post-canon.
In this fandom I generally would love dark fic but I'm equally up for these kids finding some happiness or comfort post-canon. Also, I love the ensemble cast in general, so if you feel like focusing more on the whole group of them than any of my requested characters in particular, I would be fine with that. If you want to write shippy fic, I ship Park Moo-yul/Literally-anyone (including all my requested characters, but also everyone else), Jo Youngjae/Yang Kang-mo, Jo Young-jae/Kang Mi-reu, Jo Young-jae/Yoon Su, Kang Mi-reu/Choi Chi-hoon, Kang Mi-reu/Choi Chi-hoon/Park Moo-yul, and Kang Mi-reu/Yoon Su. I would also enjoy gen.

-For Choi Chi-hoon: I find it very interesting how Chi-hoon functions in an emergency--he comes up with a lot of good plans, but they sometimes do backfire on him. I'd love a fic about the day Chi-hoon spent being theoretically dead locked up by Kim Yo-han, or Chi-hoon trying to mediate while the others are going a little off the rails in episode 4. Or perhaps something about Chi-hoon's idea that the people sent to find Yoon Su while Kim Yo-han holds the rest of the group hostage should just run away--what if Chi-hoon had actually been one of the people sent out? Would he have followed through with this idea? If so, what would the consequence be? I'd also love basically any fic where someone explodes with emotions in Chi-hoon's face and Chi-hoon has to try his best to deal with it.
I ship Chi-hoon with Moo-yul or Mi-reu, but gen is also very good.
-For Kang Mi-reu: Such an amazing boy, really a fave. I love how he's casual about breaking rules and attacking people, but actually a pretty chill guy despite the bad boy vibes--forgives Yoon Su almost immediately after hearing his side of the story, never really takes action on his grudge against Chi-hoon, etc etc. I ship him with Moo-yul, Chi-hoon, and Yoon Su, and a little with Young-jae; in a less shippy way, I wonder how he feels about Oh Jung-hye's death and her prior betrayal. Or about his part in a murder (well, obviously this is a good question for all of them, but I especially wonder about Mi-reu, who was around for so few of the events leading up to the climax).
-For Park Moo-yul: So I mentioned above that I ship Park Moo-yul with pretty much anyone; this is true. I especially like him with Chi-hoon for the contrast between apparently cold genius and extremely emotional genius, or with Kang Mi-reu or Jo Young-jae for a good boy/bad boy sort of ship (where the good boy is perhaps not so good as he appears lols). Apart from shippy stuff, though, I love Moo-yul wavering between very slight self preservation and very large hero complex; he never quite goes the full distance to "go ahead and shoot me" but he comes within an inch. I'd also like to see how Moo-yul's father reacts to having his son's vaguely suicidal hero complex pointed out to him--do they ever talk about that, or is it left at "well Kim Yo-han was a serial killer and probably had nothing valid to say, let's let that conversation go :)"?
-For Yoon Su: Any sort of Yoon Su lives!fic is very welcome, especially exploring a post-canon world where Yoon Su isn't so friendless anymore or exploring Yoon Su adjusting to his new knowledge about his mom and his childhood. In general, I love Yoon Su's mutual grudge with Kang Mi-reu--which was resolved surprisingly fast. I'd love to see Yoon Su's resentment of Kang Mi-reu at its peak (when he was plotting to get him expelled perhaps) or how the two relate to each other now that, after everything that went down, petty grudges don't seem to matter as much anymore. I also love that Yoon Su is one of the ppl who's entirely willing to fuck with Young-jae and sometimes straight up tackle him out of annoyance.

He tied up Youqin Hong--maybe a less great shippy dynamic, but still my sort of shippy dynamic! If you can find some way to ship him with literally anyone (Zhan Feng? Yu Zihan? Lie Ruge? Ji Jinglei?) I will take it. Or, if you don't want to ship him with anyone, I am really intrigued by his dynamic with Anye Jue. He's very suspicious of her from the beginning, but the first time we see them meeting, their fighting seems mostly playful and they don't really try to hurt each other. And Anye Jue says herself she raised him as her son and doesn't want to see him get killed or badly hurt. So.... backstory on their familial relationship? AU where Anye Jue manipulates Lei Jinghong into joining Dark River or takes him captive so he won't get hurt? I would take anything about their weird not-really-mother-son dynamic.
Also any kind of whumping of Lei Jinghong is good.
-Xun Yi: I want to know the complicated tangles of Xun Yi and family relationships! How much did the child Xun Yi understand of what went on when she was given to Flaming Hills? Does Xun Yi want a good relationship with Anye Jue, even knowing she's kind of evil, or is it more like she ended up with Dark River by duty and default (and a little blackmail)? Does she want a familial relationship with Lei Jinghong? Did she and Lei Jinghong ever hang out when they were kids? And then there are her Flaming Hills relationships--almost killing Lie Ruge did a number on her, so how did she feel in the aftermath? Would it be possible for her and Ji Jinglei to get back together now, or not?
-Yi Lang: Tbh I mostly am requesting him in hopes of some villainy. He is imo the best villainous gloater and general creep on the show and I am into that. Probably the best targets for his villainy would be Zhan Feng (there was the whole hanging Zhan Feng in chains thing) or Zhongli Wulei (the clear jealousy, the Die Yi murder and his awful gloating at Zhongli Wulei's misery afterwards, etc etc). But if you want to set him on someone else, go for it. He was gloaty about Ji Jinglei being blind for a while there. He also did capture Yu Zihan and was kind of a smug jerk about it. This boy has great whumper capacity and exercises it as often as possible. If you want to write Yi Lang not being literally the worst, idk, you could write his backstory with Lie Mingjing, how he was taken in and why he ended up the mess he is now. Or something about his Ping'an mom, or his weird relationship with Dao Wuxia.
-Yu Zihan: While Yu Zihan's pining for Lie Ruge is a large portion of his character motivation, I'd rather not get a fic focused on that (though some in the background is chill). How about Yu Zihan trying to bond with his brothers--both his royal brothers and his martial brothers--with mixed success? How about some whump? I could go for some sickness (Chill Spell or other) or for Yu Zihan during his time in Anye Luo's dungeon, or any other bad thing--just Yu Zihan being sad in general. Alternatively, if you can think of someone to ship with Yu Zihan who is not Lie Ruge, go for it; I have a hard time thinking up such things bc he's so closed off, but maybe someone could get to him. Or, courtly intrigue or battlefield adventures.

In this fandom I generally would love dark fic but I'm equally up for these kids finding some happiness or comfort post-canon. Also, I love the ensemble cast in general, so if you feel like focusing more on the whole group of them than any of my requested characters in particular, I would be fine with that. If you want to write shippy fic, I ship Park Moo-yul/Literally-anyone (including all my requested characters, but also everyone else), Jo Youngjae/Yang Kang-mo, Jo Young-jae/Kang Mi-reu, Jo Young-jae/Yoon Su, Kang Mi-reu/Choi Chi-hoon, Kang Mi-reu/Choi Chi-hoon/Park Moo-yul, and Kang Mi-reu/Yoon Su. I would also enjoy gen.
Some vague prompts:
-For Choi Chi-hoon: I find it very interesting how Chi-hoon functions in an emergency--he comes up with a lot of good plans, but they sometimes do backfire on him. I'd love a fic about the day Chi-hoon spent being theoretically dead locked up by Kim Yo-han, or Chi-hoon trying to mediate while the others are going a little off the rails in episode 4. Or perhaps something about Chi-hoon's idea that the people sent to find Yoon Su while Kim Yo-han holds the rest of the group hostage should just run away--what if Chi-hoon had actually been one of the people sent out? Would he have followed through with this idea? If so, what would the consequence be? I'd also love basically any fic where someone explodes with emotions in Chi-hoon's face and Chi-hoon has to try his best to deal with it.
I ship Chi-hoon with Moo-yul or Mi-reu, but gen is also very good.
-For Kang Mi-reu: Such an amazing boy, really a fave. I love how he's casual about breaking rules and attacking people, but actually a pretty chill guy despite the bad boy vibes--forgives Yoon Su almost immediately after hearing his side of the story, never really takes action on his grudge against Chi-hoon, etc etc. I ship him with Moo-yul, Chi-hoon, and Yoon Su, and a little with Young-jae; in a less shippy way, I wonder how he feels about Oh Jung-hye's death and her prior betrayal. Or about his part in a murder (well, obviously this is a good question for all of them, but I especially wonder about Mi-reu, who was around for so few of the events leading up to the climax).
-For Park Moo-yul: So I mentioned above that I ship Park Moo-yul with pretty much anyone; this is true. I especially like him with Chi-hoon for the contrast between apparently cold genius and extremely emotional genius, or with Kang Mi-reu or Jo Young-jae for a good boy/bad boy sort of ship (where the good boy is perhaps not so good as he appears lols). Apart from shippy stuff, though, I love Moo-yul wavering between very slight self preservation and very large hero complex; he never quite goes the full distance to "go ahead and shoot me" but he comes within an inch. I'd also like to see how Moo-yul's father reacts to having his son's vaguely suicidal hero complex pointed out to him--do they ever talk about that, or is it left at "well Kim Yo-han was a serial killer and probably had nothing valid to say, let's let that conversation go :)"?
-For Yoon Su: Any sort of Yoon Su lives!fic is very welcome, especially exploring a post-canon world where Yoon Su isn't so friendless anymore or exploring Yoon Su adjusting to his new knowledge about his mom and his childhood. In general, I love Yoon Su's mutual grudge with Kang Mi-reu--which was resolved surprisingly fast. I'd love to see Yoon Su's resentment of Kang Mi-reu at its peak (when he was plotting to get him expelled perhaps) or how the two relate to each other now that, after everything that went down, petty grudges don't seem to matter as much anymore. I also love that Yoon Su is one of the ppl who's entirely willing to fuck with Young-jae and sometimes straight up tackle him out of annoyance.
