Great Gatsby
Requested ships: Jordan/Daisy, Jordan/Myrtle, Nick/Gatsby, Nick/Tom, fic.

What a mix of ships! Honestly, I'd ship anything in The Great Gatsby, so I'm feeling it. Too many ships I'm requesting to rant at length, so I'm just gonna head into prompts.

-Why would Tom sleep with Nick? To get back at Daisy for sleeping with Gatsby? Because he's having a bad day (fight with Myrtle or Daisy or something) and Nick's being sympathetic and he has feelings? Because he actually likes Nick?

-Tom being possessive of Nick, maybe finally deciding to pursue him or stake his claim when he realizes Nick's into Gatsby. A Tom-Nick-Gatsby love triangle to parallel the Tom-Daisy-Gatsby canon.

-For Nick/Gatsby, I'd love to see something with the darker side of Gatsby. Gatsby's a gangster, after all. Murder, kidnapping, blackmail, etc etc... How would Nick react to Gatsby's darker side? Is it something Gatsby would try to hide from Nick, or would he trust Nick enough to share it?

-Or, fluffy fic with Gatsby being the clueless dude he is about feelings and Nick trying desperately to seduce him.

-Any fic where Gatsby lives. I don't care how bullshit the explanation is. Gatsby faked his death? Great. Nick stays at the pool and saves Gatsby's life? Brilliant. Gatsby was secretly a werewolf/vampire/fae and bullets can't kill him? Fuckign superb. ANY EXCUSE FOR GATSBY TO LIVE.

-Fic where Nick is a published author, Gatsby's favorite author in fact, and Gatsby is trying really hard to impress him, possibly getting Daisy to arrange a meeting, possibly just trying to overwhelm him with parties etc.

-Nick gets mugged by some random dude in the city and Gatsby, crime boss, seeks out VENGEANCE (and also takes care of Nick, who has been beat up).

-Any Jordan/Myrtle fic where Myrtle lives. As above, I don't care how bullshit the excuse is. Myrtle just doesn't run out into the road? Sure. Myrtle is rushed to the hospital and a worried Jordan won't leave her bedside? Lovely. Myrtle does die but Jordan makes a deal with Hades Orpheus-style and drags her back to the world of the living? Yes. JUST LET MYRTLE LIVE.

-Fic where Jordan is Myrtle's secret upper-class lover instead of Tom all along. Or, to make it extra spicy, she's sleeping with Tom AND Jordan bc idk this is Great Gatsby everyone sleeps with everyone.

-For Jordan/Daisy, how about those angsty infidelity feels, Jordan feeling feels about being "the other woman", Daisy unsure whether she should continue her relationship with Jordan past marrying Tom or not...

-Or, the night Daisy gets married, she and Jordan have one last fuck. (or, they think it will be the last...)

-Post-canon, Jordan helps Daisy forget about Gatsby and move on.

-Pre-canon, we know Jordan was in a LOT of the same cities as Daisy. What kind of drama went down there? Why does Jordan follow Daisy around everywhere?


The Perilous Gard
Requested: The Lady/Kate Sutton, Gwenhyfara/Kate Sutton, fic or art

I've received Kate/Lady fic before and it was brilliant and you know what, I still want more. My appetite is only whetted. And I've never seen Kate/Gwenhyfara done, and I think it has potential. So.

What I love about the Lady and Kate is that the Lady has this weird form of respect for Kate. She sees Kate as different from other mortals, capable of becoming more. She likes that Kate is strong-willed, able to defy her, but at the same time, Kate generally has to maintain a pretense of respect towards her. Kate, meanwhile... she actually does want to please the Lady in some ways, whether it be to keep the Lady from forcing her to take the happy drink, or whether it's because in a Stockholm Syndrome way she values the Lady's opinion. And from the ending you can tell that she mourns the Lady's loss of her home and her way of life, though not enough to regret what she's done.

For Kate/Gwenhyfara, the dynamic is more equal, though Gwenhyfara still holds more power. Gwenhyfara also comes to respect Kate, but she still somewhat views her as a pet to be trained, so that's something to play on. I'd love to see post-canon Gwenhyfara facing a Kate who's no longer under her control, who in fact now has more power than she does. But I also like how Gwenhyfara slowly grows fond of Kate within the canon era, in her own fae way.

 

For fic:

-Kate fails to save Christopher or forgets he exists, and continues to live with the Fair Folk, slowly growing closer to the Lady or to Gwenhyfara.
 

-Kate is the offering rather than Christopher, and the Lady should be busy convincing her she's nothing... but maybe, as she grows to know Kate, she thinks Kate is Something instead. Or maybe it is traditional for the Lady to offer herself to the offering before the offering is killed, as a special honor.

-Gwenhyfara is a fae spy among the human folk, and she observes Kate, and builds a relationship with her, before the whole Kate getting kidnapped thing goes down.

-Gwenhyfara training Kate--Does she train her in more intimate ways than we see in canon? Does she find that being around Kate threatens her own sense of self-discipline?
 

-Something post-canon: An AU where Kate doesn't marry Christopher and instead goes on the road with the Lady? Or maybe even a story where she does, but still is haunted by the Lady?

-Post-canon for Kate/Gwenhyfara: Gwenhyfara comes to work at Kate's manor (where she's married to Christopher, or just living with him) bc she's tired of living on the road? Or Gwenhyfara is living on the road but comes by to visit the town, and Kate spots her.

-This wasn't nominated, but if you want to squash both ships into a fic or write Lady/Kate/Gwenhyfara, I would not be averse.

 

For art:

-Anything showing the ambience of the underground halls. Or! The Lady watching Kate in the forest, during her first ride to the Perilous Gard.
 

-Maybe something showing Kate's lack of power--Kate looking hypnotized or Kate in bondage. The Lady looming over Kate. The Lady covering Kate's eyes or touching her while Kate's just standing still, practicing her control.

-Gwenhyfara and Kate's control exercises.
 

-Any illustration of a canon scene with the couple together.

-Color pallette: I feel like green and red are some good colors here. ...not necessarily in a Christmassy way, lols. But the cover shows Kate in red, and the Lady is known as "The Lady in Green". So, green in particular is a fae color. I'd also love something dark for the sense of them being underground.

-For anything sketchy or black and white, I love the vintage style of the book's illustrations--anything at all similar would be very interesting. Or another form of stylized sketch.

The Sting
Requested: Johnny Hooker/Doyle Lonnegan, fic.

I know the more typical ship for this fandom is Hooker/Gondorff but goddamn it, DOYLE LONNEGAN. He captured all my feels. I feel like there's such a nice power imbalance between him and Hooker pretending to be Kelly, not to mention Hooker gets to play with a secret identity, not to mention how much Hooker secretly hates him for killing Luther... just a lot going on here. I don't necessarily need anything nice for this ship bc I think they'd necessarily be a dysfunctional couple--though I guess if you wanted to go some AU route where Luther isn't dead so the beef isn't there, I'd be interested to see where it went.

Aaaanyways. Only fic prompts for this ship, so let's go:

-Faux post-mortem: Lonnegan's thoughts in the aftermath of the movie's events, having learned "Kelly" is really Hooker. Does he mourn Hooker? Does he suddenly find himself regretting their off-screen one night stand? Is he more intrigued by Hooker, who fooled him, than he would have been by Kelly? Is he completely taken in by "Kelly" dying, or does he still have doubts?

-AU where Hooker and Luther are dragged down to see Lonnegan instead of Luther getting killed bc Lonnegan wants to avenge himself on these conmen in person. He finds he's more amused by Hooker than angry at him, and decides to be lenient... for a given value of lenient.

-All the dub-con. I'd even be okay with non-con for this ship--Lonnegan getting his revenge after finding out he's been fooled. Or honestly any kind of violent vengeance.

-And for that matter, basically any post-canon fic where Lonnegan meets up with Hooker and finds out he's alive. Just. HOW WOULD THAT PLAY OUT?

-Lonnegan is into "Kelly" and convinces him to have sex, maybe in exchange for moving the money for his gambling scheme, maybe just because why the hell not?

-Hooker doesn't try to pull a big con, but a long con--he joins up with Lonnegan's gang with the intention of gaining Lonnegan's trust and eventually either stealing all his money or killing him. This may or may not go as he planned.

-I'm waiving my DNW on major character death here if you want to write Hooker straight up murdering Lonnegan, but otherwise it stands. (Canonically Luther dies, of course--I'd love to see an AU where he lives, but otherwise please just grant him a measure of respect--like, don't make Hooker forget about his quest for vengeance the minute he sees Lonnegan bc Lonnegan's just so hot--and also please don't make him die within the fic itself.)


The Prisoner of Zenda
Requested: Rudolf Rassendyll/Rupert of Hentzau, fic or art.

I'm gonna re-use a lot of my Rassendyll/Rupert prompts from the novel-verse for the Chocolate Box Exchange bc, honestly, my mind automatically conflates these two--in fact when I think about it, the prompts probably fit this movie better than the novel to begin with, which is probably because I watched the movie several times before reading the book. Anyways! God I love this movie. For quite a while I called it my favorite movie; now it's competing for the spot with a couple others. And of course Rupert and Rudolf are the characters who make it so damn good. I love how Rupert swaggers into any scene with complete confidence, even when he's in the presence of Black Michael or the king himself, and how gleefully evil he is. That boy does not give a shit--until he does, and that veneer breaks into violence. On the other hand, I love how Rassendyll acts like the proper Englishman but is also kind of a wild card--like it takes less than a minute for Sapt to convince him to impersonate the king, he is ON THAT. They're just completely chaotic on the alignment chart, chaotic good and chaotic evil I suppose, and it's great. (tho I guess you could make an argument for Rassendyll being mildly lawful... whatever, that's a tangent, this is a focused letter I swear.)

Anyways, I don't mind if in fic you soften Rupert's edges or make Rassendyll a little more amoral, but I'd still prefer Rupert to remain mostly a scoundrel, and Rassendyll generally a well-meaning guy. On the other side of things, this is a ship where I'm fine with dub-con or even non-con. In art... well, I'll get to that, I don't have as many specific thoughts so I'm gonna save them for specifics. ON TO PROMPTS.

For fics:

-Rupert's just super taken with Rassendyll and for some reason he's decided to monologue about his clever nemesis to the king, a good captive audience. At first the king is like...typical Rupert rants, good to hear Rassendyll's doing an okay job with his trickery, I'm rooting for him... but then Rupert's monologue goes in some weird directions (like, idk, "you can just tell that play actor is good in bed and it's really frustrating" or "when we had this confrontation the other day he was wearing a really fetching pair of pants") and the king is like...what??

 

-The above but instead of Rupert monologuing at the king it's Rassendyll monologuing to Sapt or Fritz or even Flavia. I feel like the most sympathetic party here would probably be Fritz, but even there, there's def some skepticism. "Rassendyll...weren't we discussing plans? Aren't we getting a little off topic?"

 

-Either Rupert or Rassendyll is scoping out enemy territory and has infiltrated the other's bedroom when the other comes back. Do they get caught? Do they have to hide in a closet? what do they do

 

-The Rassendyll squad has captured Rupert and has not decided what to do with him--Black Michael doesn't know he's been taken yet, and they can't decide whether to try to get information out of him, try to use him as a hostage, kill him, keep him prisoner and out of the way... meanwhile Rassendyll is just intensely turned on by the sight of Rupert tied up. Does Rupert use this fact to his advantage? Is he enjoying his captivity with the flair of a villain who's sure he hasn't really lost, or is he seething, and humiliated by Rassendyll's amusement? What happens if he gets loose?

 

-Or, on the other side, Rupert and a couple henchmen capture Rassendyll... but when Rupert realizes that if he takes Rassendyll back to Michael, Michael will kill him, he can't bring himself to do it. Or he does bring Rassendyll back, but he talks Michael into just killing the king bc "it's safe now" and letting Rupert keep Rassendyll for himself ;)

 

-The king dies before Rassendyll can rescue him, either during the attempted rescue or before Rassendyll can even try. This leaves Rassendyll as king, and though he feels guilty, he doesn't entirely mind, especially with Flavia as his betrothed. But Rupert won't leave him alone. Maybe he's trying to set up blackmail. Maybe he's just really into a guy with a crown. One way or another, he keeps on harrassing Rassendyll and Rassendyll is like... I should not be into this. I really should not be into this.

 

-Weird hurt/comfort fic. Rassendyll gets sick or injured and Rupert comes to visit and doesn't actually try to murder him? Rupert is sick/injured and for some reason Rassendyll sees him and feels unexpectedly sympathetic rather than amused? Maybe still a little amused...

 

-Soulmarks. Rupert's like, "Michael we can't kill this Rassendyll guy he's my actual soulmate." Rassendyll's like "WHY DID MY SOULMATE HAVE TO BE THIS DUDE." Probably not name soulmarks, bc you know Rupert would have looked Rassendyll up years ago or vice versa, noble families aren't hard to find.

For art:
-I'm here for any kind of tense, kinky posing here: Rupert menacing Rassendyll with a gun/knife/sword? Rassendyll doing similar things to Rupert? One of the two already being injured? Someone being tied up? I'm open to any of this.

-Rupert's cocky smile DOES THINGS TO ME. Rassendyll, on the other hand... I like when he looks mildly concerned or mildly amused, but also when he's being confident, either way.

-Just my babes swordsfighting as seen in the finale :)

-Or... implausible but... Rupert and Rassendyll sharing a nice, romantic kiss... though I think Rassendyll would be a bit too smug about it lols.

-The Flavia garden scene but instead of Flavia ITS RUPERT.

-Rupert's dark military uniform, or that satiny turtleneck. Rassendyll in king clothes or in civvies or in the swordsfighting turtleneck. Rupert trying on Rassendyll's crown while Rassendyll tries to get it back bc he's an asshole.

-I'd prefer a limited pallette or vintage-y colors if you go for coloring, but you do you. Equally fine with black and white bc, you know, it's a black and white movie.
