Hey! This is my letter for the Just Married Fic Exchange of 2019. I am very excited for it.

Some general likes:
-I'm requesting het, slash, and femslash, and I like all three. Also, you can leave a fic pre-relationship if so desired in the sense that if you get these characters engaged or married or what have you, it's fine if you don't show the process of them falling in love or making out or having sex or whatever.
-Tho do feel free to include any of that too.
-I like light, cracky fic. I like plotty fic. I like dark fic. This goes for all the fandoms I'm requesting in this exchange, so feel free to take the tags as lightly or as seriously as you desire.
-I do enjoy some they're-already-married-but-they-don't-know-they're-in-love pining. Didn't specifically request it but in general it's always good. I also enjoy when the couple is well aware they're in love but they have to jump through a ton of hoops. Or maybe they're married for Reasons but have a slowly building flirtationship/romance. Whatever you please.
-Ppl calling each other "wife" or "husband" to each other or in reference to each other is a nice thing.
-Otherwise... these general likes are all relevant to the exchange, if you want GENERAL general likes feel free to look at any of my past exchange letters.

My DNWs:
-Focus on pregancy or impregnating someone. I don't mind if a character gets pregnant in the fic or if it's one reason for the marriage (the need for an heir or whatever), I just don't really want it as a focal point, thanks.
-Underage sex.
-Finger or toe injury, eye injury.
-Watersports or scat.

As for more specific prompts, generally here the tags are the prompt. So I've added a couple additional details to each request, and expanded on tags when I couldn't resist, but in general, feel free to play with any of the tags I requested.

In general I'm looking for some royal marriage/betrothal shenanigans. Elsa's getting engaged/married to another princess, so what are the political aspects? What's the process for them getting engaged or married? Do their cultures have different marriage-related traditions? Who arranged the marriage (them? parents? advisors?), and are our princesses in love yet or have they never even met? Something in between? What are the reactions to their engagement/marriage? What are the obstacles?

Also, what's the dynamic with our couples here? I imagine Elsa might be not entirely comfortable with most people; does she act frigid or only shy? We don't really know how Moana feels about romance at all, but Jasmine and Merida are openly against being set up with the men they're introduced to in their movies. Are they being forced into this arrangement or did they seek it out? Do they feel happier about it being a woman? Jasmine cares a lot about marrying for love, and Merida seems to value her independence above all. How do these priorities mix or clash with marrying Elsa?

For specific tags, I did have a couple ideas, though feel free to interpret them however you wish:

For the contest and ritual combat tags I was thinking about how Merida had the shooting contest--would Elsa enter such a contest to win Merida's hand? But I can also picture Elsa or Jasmine setting something similar up to put off potential suitors. Or maybe Moana--we don't know much about Motonui's customs, after all!

For the joke proposal, maybe Elsa's just chatting with a fellow princess and they make some kind of joke like "Oh, marry me" but she takes it seriously bc hey, she's been shut up in her room for years, she's not super great on social cues, and now for Reasons the other princess can't take it back.

For the former enemies one, maybe Arendelle's been at war with another country and Elsa and the other princess have been archnemeses or knew each other before the war--so of course when peace is made they get married.

I just wanna see Attolia getting engaged/married, okay? Canonically I love Eugenides/Attolia but I'd also be really interested to see her dynamic with Eddis or Sophos, I think they'd contrast each other interestingly. So... I told myself I wouldn't go on and on about individual prompts too much here but I can't help it here a little bit. Obviously some of these are pretty simple--marriages arranged (maybe by Attolia's father but maybe by Attolia herself if she were to decide a marriage was expedient), feelings developing, etc etc. BUT some of them I had slightly more specific thoughts:

For the undergoing painful ritual to prove devotion prompt, I can definitely picture that being a custom in Attolia or Eddis or I guess Sounis. Would the participants be stoic about it or would they show pain, which might maybe lead to some hurt/comfort? Idk? I think all of them can take a lot of punishment when necessary but suppose this happened before they even developed a real relationship with each other--they'd have to feel kind of bitter about proving a love they don't necessarily feel.

Honeymoon heist I included because yes Gen go get it, and by it I mean ppl's money/valuables. Though if you pull this off with Attolia/Eddis or Attolia/Sophos I will be amused.

For the murder prompts we KNOW Attolia killed one husband so who's to say she wouldn't kill another? Is her spouse being paranoid or is this her actual intention? Or, on the other hand, maybe it's the spouse plotting to kill Attolia--or at least so she thinks.

For clemency at a public execution, I was picturing a scenario where Attolia captures Gen and decides to ask/force him to marry her instead of killing him, but only at the last second. Could happen when he's captured towards the end of QoA, the beginning of QoA, heck, the end of The Thief if you can somehow get past Gen being super young then (maybe a long engagement? or he could be aged up?), or in a complete AU.

But just generally, Attolia and marriage drama. It's all I want or need.

If there is one trope that I think works for Eugene and Vincent it's them getting married For Reasons bc is that not the movie? I mean technically they just live together and share their lives and are best friends and bicker like a married couple but um. Yeah that's the movie. I also love Irene/Vincent/Eugene tho! I think it would be a great alternate ending to that movie and just in general an interesting dynamic. Idc if you make it a triangular relationship or just a V of some sort (Irene and Eugene are both just into Vincent? Vincent and Eugene are mostly into Irene? Somehow Irene and Vincent end up being into Eugene but not each other?), do whatever you want, or stick at basic Eugene/Vincent. It's all good!

So some brief specific thoughts:

All those vaguely dystopian tags--betas being assigned to A/O couples to improve their marriage, state mandated marriage as a punishment to a crime, mandatory marriage after a certain age, marriage as criminal rehabilitation--just strike me as TYPICAL GATTACA STUFF. I mean this is a broken world, so break it more! Fuck it up! Eugene and Vincent and possibly Irene being legally forced to marry each other even tho they possibly don't even know each other strikes me as GREAT, and I would love seeing a transition from "everything about this situation sucks including you" to "hey at least we both hate the government together" to true love and possibly shared criminal activities.

Deathbed wedding but the person survives: I'm just picturing Eugene marrying Vincent (and possibly Irene) for some reason or another while planning his own suicide but then he survives or Vincent (and possibly Irene) stops him from committing suicide and then they're married.

Will only agree to marry if bested in a contest of their own design: I'm picturing swimming here (possibly before Eugene was in the car accident?) but it can be anything you like.

No one believes they're married: Jerome Eugene Morrow's records state he's married to Vincent Anton Freeman, an invalid who used to be a janitor at Gattaca. No one at Gattaca can quite fathom this; it's the one oddity in Jerome's records. Cue ppl trying to get invited over to Vincent's house or trying to get him to bring his husband to a family dinner. Maybe Eugene eventually has to pretend to be the invalid janitor husband?

For the A/B/O prompts, I'd rather not have a focus on smut bc the societal aspect interests me more, but you can include smut if you want. I don't care who's alpha, beta, or omega. Might be interesting if Vincent's pretending to be a ...gender?.... he isn't bc he has to pretend to be Eugene, bc I'm sure that's part of official records.

I love Wes/Annalise and Wes/Connor both, and I want to see some marriage! Maybe some fucked up stuff going on, or maybe some crack or fluff or h/c! All sorts of possibilities.

All the death-related prompts are because Wes dies, though if you want to make Annalise or Connor die I guess I'm okay with that. I'd love to see a story where after death Wes is still around somehow, whether through multiple universes or ghosts or resurrection or whatever. Any of it is good.

For media reactions, I imagine that Annalise's infamy as supposed husband-murderer would increase if she married her own student. Idk how the media would know about Wes/Connor but whatevs.

For all the crack-ish prompts (wedding registry, etc) I can just see Wes scheming with Connor to get the free stuff, or with Annalise if for example they were living together as Annalise suggested in Season Three.

For the mistaken rejection, the needing to convince partner the proposal is serious, etc, I just think all three of these characters don't have the best communication skills or self esteem. They might not be quick to accept or offer love. So. There you go.

Or do any of the other tags. Have a blast.

Soooooo. I love Arabella and Jonathan's canonical marriage, it's really sweet, but I'm also up for seeing some other peeps get involved. I can see Arabella marrying Emma either after Jonathan's off in the clouds or maybe at the same time as she's married to Jonathan bc it's some kind of magical marriage that's different from legal marriage or idk, it's an AU. Don't really want to kill off or bash Jonathan if it can be helped. Or, add Flora to Jonathan and Arabella's relationship--possibly bc things developed while Arabella was assumed dead? Possibly bc things developed while Jonathan was missing? Hmmmmm. Oh, and also, Stephen probably wouldn't be super psyched about marrying the Gentleman but I bet the Gentleman would be psyched about marrying him (maybe to combine his kingdom with Stephen's future kingdom??) so... probably a forced marriage there but maybe Stephen comes around to the idea? Or not. Idk, could be interesting.

For the individual prompts I mostly just picked various magical tags or stuff that the interpretation is pretty obvious, but if you want some specific ideas:

Most of the death prompts I thought might apply to the supposedly dead Arabella, but you can mess around with another character being dead or supposedly dead if you want. (But really, imagine the angst if Jonathan tries to use marriage to resurrect Arabella and then it doesn't work? Or he marries some alternate version of Arabella but Arabella comes back? COMPLICATIONS.)

For the studying hobbies prompt: Imagine if Arabella and Jonathan weren't childhood friends but an arranged marriage. Arabella knows Jonathan is a magician and little else except what she's read in the papers or heard by rumor. Jonathan knows little at all. Or imagine Stephen studying fae lore while the Gentleman keeps track of him from a distance. Or either of the others.

For the royal court reaction: I'd love to see the royal fae court reacting to Stephen marrying their ruler. But also, Jonathan's the king's magician; how would the court react to him marrying Arabella or both Arabella and Flora if he did so after being the magician for a time? OR how would the royal fae court react to Emma and Arabella marrying while they're cursed to stay there?

Or any of the other tags.

I'm excited to see what you do, no matter the fandom or ship or tag you choose!
