Apparently I forgot to post the fics I wrote here last week so
here is a list for the last two weeks! Fandoms include Phantom of the Opera, The Sting, Greek mythology, and a Spider-man/Fantastic Four crossover.
curiosity cures pneumonia
Fandom: POTO
Ship: Carlottastine
Word count: 449
Carlotta's supposed to be faking sick, but she sneaks in to see Christine's big debut anyways.
Pretty Good for a Dead Man
Fandom: The Sting
Ship: Hooker/Lonnegan
Word count: 4754
Post-canon, Lonnegan catches Hooker but isn't entirely sure what to do with him.
heart made of glass, my mind of stone
Fandom: Greek mythology
Ship: Medusa/Athena
Word count: 1035
Medusa is Athena's alone.
Not Only Angels Have Wings. (Geese Do As Well.)
Fandom: POTO
Ship: Raoul & Christine
Word count: 1956
The soulmate goose comes for Christine in the middle of a performance. Also, it's impossible to explain her relationship with Raoul is platonic.
The Golden Raoultriever
Fandom: POTO
Ship: Raoul/Daroga
Word count: 3536
Raoul is turned into a golden retriever. Fortunately the Daroga is at hand.
The Spider in West Egg
Fandom: Spider-man/Fantastic Four crossover
Ship: Peter Parker/Johnny Storm
Word count: 9898
The Great Gatsby fusion fic where Johnny is Gatsby and also a supervillain, and Peter is still Spider-man and also the confused boy next door.
So there you have it. It's not entirely an accurate depiction of my writing in the past two weeks bc I also wrote two Chocolate Box fics, and also, "The Spider in West Egg" was written almost two years ago, at which time I just never got around to posting it. So I wrote both more and less recently than this list would have you believe.
I want to write more Chocolate Box fics but I have so little time for it! ugghghghghgghhg. Presenting a project proposal to an academic board tomorrow, so wish me luck. For context, it's a project on queerness in Mary Renault's work. One professor on the board has already expressed disapproval; another has given me helpful critique advice. I have no idea if this project will be approved or not but I've already read five books for it so IT BETTER.
