 Dear Chocolatier,
So excited to be in this exchange with you! I'll be very excited to see what you make. This year I'm really just requesting fic. I have way too many prompts, but feel free to ignore them if some other fic is calling your name! As long as you listen to my DNWs :)

...especially since I realized after coming up with a ton of prompts that most of them would be hard to do in 300 words lols! I'd love to see a short scene from any of the prompts I came up with, and again, I'd be fine with you doing something completely different too.

How to Get Away With Murder
Requesting: Wes/Annalise, Wes & Annalise

I can't believe I only ended up requesting one combination of characters in this fandom but you know what, it may be one of my few OTPs. I actually stopped watching after Season Three bc I didn't care enough to continue without Wes--so if you wanna use details from seasons past there, feel free, but pls don't use so many I won't have any idea what's going on.

Anyways I just love these two. I love the fact that you can never tell whether they really love and are loyal to each other or are trying to manipulate each other and resent and distrust each other--and a lot of the time, it's probably both. I'm fine with you leaning into one or the other here; Wes' death left me sad enough that I would love to see him happy, but I'm also a bitch for dark fic. Also, while I hella ship it, I also hella platonic it. I mean, Annalise straight up says she thinks of Wes as a son and you know what that's a dynamic I'm here for too.

Some ideas:

-Annalise catches feelings for Wes while both Sam and Rebecca are still alive. It's a very "it's complicated" situation. Does she feel relieved when Sam and/or Rebecca dies? Does something start while they're still alive? Is Wes aware of her feelings, and does he reciprocate or no?

-Annalise has amnesia. When she wakes up, Wes is at her bedside. What relationship does she assume they have? How does Wes treat this perhaps more innocent version of her?

-Michaela says in a flashback "don't tell me you're buying a bracelet for Annalise". WHAT IF HE WAS?

-On the other hand, Connor basically see Wes as Annalise's tool, maybe even her enforcer. ...what if she did use him that way? Kind of like she does Frank...

-AU where Annalise is Wes' adoptive or foster mother, or where they know each other pre-canon bc she got in touch with him and told him she knew his mother, and they have a parental sort of relationship. Is Sam comfortable with this? How do Frank and Bonnie feel about Annalise's apparently innocent but actually kind of intense son? How do the K-5 react to meeting him as Annalise's son?

-Annalise is trying really hard to achieve the above AU but she only manages to get in touch with Wes when he's already in his late teens and only really gets to know him even later and she can't erase the sexual tension between them and she hates it so much.

-Someone is abusing Wes. Annalise intervenes.

-Annalise says in Season Three that if Wes won't keep his mouth shut she'll "put him in the basement like Rebecca" and I weirdly want this AU. Probably it would only last a day or so, right? But you can bet it would freak Wes way out and then Annalise would feel guilty and just in general it would be a mess.

-Wes is in one of his depressive states (like when he's super sleep deprived) and Annalise takes care of him.

-WES AND ANNALISE LIVING TOGETHER. Either in a friendly, familial way--possibly with Wes dating Meggy?--which has the rest of the K-5 weirded out but suits them fine, or in a casual affair kind of way that is good for both of them but also makes Annalise a little antsy.

-Wes finally apologizes for shooting Annalise. Does she forgive him? Is it old news, or does his attempt to kill her still hurt? literally or physically lols.

-Absolutely any Wes Lives AU.

Marco Polo
Requesting: Mei Lin & Marco, Marco/Jingim, Marco/Jingim/Kokachin, Marco & Jingim, Khutulun/Kokachin

I'm requesting different ships than my usual for this fandom! Usually I request Jing Fei/Mei Lin and Chabi/Mei Lin. But lately I've been really satisfied with the fics for those ships, so I'm thinking about my other shippy feelings.

I loved Mei Lin and Marco's bromance when they were chasing down the boy emperor together. That sense of antagonism but teamwork. Marco's nominal authority while Mei Lin still felt very much the driving force of the mission, the more powerful personality. The fact that by the end of the mission Marco was willing to defend Mei Lin to Kublai's face. But I did not ship it at all, which is why I'm only requesting gen. Give me those bromance vibes!

Marco and Jingim, meanwhile, I feel every which way about. I do like Marco and Jingim having a complicated platonic relationship. They say they consider each other to be brothers, that's pretty cool. And their rivalry is great. But I also did ship them so if you wanna go romantic places with it ;) and also I was very interested in the potential of a Marco/Jingim/Kokachin OT3, tho in canon it was very obviously never going to happen.

Then there's Khutulun and Kokachin, who are such a contrast. Even tho they're only together in like one or two scenes I still think it would be interesting. It has potential :)

Some ideas:

-Marco really does run away from Kublai's court at the end of Season Two, but in his travels he runs into Mei Lin. Is she involved in some kind of trouble, maybe Lotus' rebellion? Is she living peacefully? Does Marco join her or leave her? Or, maybe Mei Lin joins him and runs off to Venice with him and Ling-Ling--at least she's not a wanted person there.

-Mei Lin and Marco sparring. Marco can't believe he's being beaten not only by a woman but this woman, a traitor and a courtesan. Mei Lin can't believe she's even giving this idiot Latin the time of day. They both have fun anyway.

-Somehow the two meet in Season One. Maybe Kublai tries to send Mei Lin to entertain Marco and Marco's like...thanks but no thanks bc at this point he's too into Kokachin? Maybe just Mei Lin's impressions of Marco in the report she sends back to Jia Sidao?

-I kind of want to see Jingim being possessive of Marco--doesn't matter if it's platonic or romantic. Jingim disapproving of Niccolo's relationship with Marco, especially around the time when Niccolo's in jail and Jingim goes to visit and scolds him even tho he hates Marco at the time. Jingim hating on Marco's bromance with Byamba bc damn it why does the Latin like everyone but him. Jingim getting pissed about Khutulun flirting with Marco. Jingim getting annoyed at how casually possessive KUBLAI is of Marco and how much Marco sucks up to him. Just some good solid jealousy, man.

-On the other hand, Marco being jealous of Jingim would be hilarious. Marco lowkey hating on JINGIM'S WIVES. Marco being like "I know you went on a cool mission with Ahmad but I'm still your favorite pseudo-brother right?" Marco being annoyed when after their bonding moment at the end of Season One, Jingim gets busy and never spends time with him. Etc etc.

-Jingim and Marco and their tremendous daddy issues. Discussing how they feel about legacies--their responsibility to their fathers, whether or not they want legacies themselves. Whether the moment is more important.

-Hurt/comfort--Jingim canonically comes to visit Marco when he's sick from poison, so we know he cares :). Would Marco visit Jingim if he was sick or stabbed by an assassin or what have you? What if one of them gets hurt in ways that are more emotional than physical?

-Post-canon, how are Jingim and Marco going to get along? Does Jingim hate Marco again? Will he be willing to listen to Marco explain his side of the story of what went on with Kokachin?

-AND SPEAKING OF KOKACHIN. How about that poly?

-Jingim invites Marco to spend more time with them either bc they're friends or bc Kokachin talks about him, probably while half-delirious, and he's figured out what's going on. In the second case, he just wants his wife to be happy...but he has to admit that now he's started thinking of Marco that way himself.

-AU where Marco doesn't know Kokachin's children aren't Jingim's. He's sworn to care for them with his life, and he becomes very close with them. Maybe Kokachin is alive and they're all just becoming very familial but she's still keeping her secret and it's still driving her a little off the deep end. Maybe Jingim is jealous, or maybe he's happy to share fatherhood with Marco. If Kokachin is dead, how does Marco feel about his responsibility towards Jingim and Kokachin's sons?

-Jingim gets the truth of Kokachin's affair with Marco out of either Kokachin or Chabi after hearing or discovering hints of it. He finds he can't hold it against Marco, and talks to Kokachin about it all... and decides he can't keep two lovers apart. But he's still Kokachin's husband, so any conversations the two have, he wants to be around for. These conversations are frustratingly tame until he finds a way to spark something a little sharper.

-For Khutulun/Kokachin--how did the two meet? DID THEY HAVE CASUAL SEX AND THAT'S WHY THEY'RE SO ANTAGONISTIC WITH EACH OTHER

-How do they feel about each other's very different forms of womanhood? Does Khutulun think Kokachin is disgustingly Chinese and pampered? Does Kokachin hate Khutulun's brash masculinity? Or do they really admire each other?

-AU where Khutulun stays at Kublai's court longer, and courts Kokachin instead of, or in addition to, Byamba.

-Khutulun notices that Kokachin seems to like Marco and taunts her with the information of her and Marco's tryst. Kokachin reacts in an unexpected manner.

Sense8
Requesting: Sun/Kala, Sun/Capheus, Jonas & Will

I really love Sun and I think she has chemistry with a lot of characters, but especially Kala and Capheus. With Kala, I think partly about the similarities in their lives--both businesswomen, both with strong senses of duty--but also just the sense of intimacy you get from their conversations, like when Sun gives Kala advice about sex. With Capheus a lot of it is the fact that they're each other's "firsts" in a "first-cluster-pal-I-connected-with" kind of way. But also they both get in a lot of physical danger, and I love how Capheus is willing to plunge in, betting that Sun will show up to back him up even when they don't totally ~get~ what being a sensate means yet. And also there's the contrast between Sun the billionaire's daughter and Capheus the poor boy, but they both have a strong sense of duty to their families and they still just get each other and I love it.

Then there's Lila/Kala... I've talked about them before but idk what to say except they're my crack dark ship and I love the potential. Not only are they on opposite ends of a love triangle but Lila actually SHOT Kala, which is chemistry in my book, and they're also just so different yet similar: Lila's so bad and Kala tries so hard to be good but at the same time they both tend to lie and they're both very cool-headed and know how to deal with danger. So. It's a ship.

I'm also requesting gen for Jonas and Will! Their relationship for me drives so much of Will's plotline--that and Will being Whispers' archnemesis, and even that seems to be a position he basically inherited from Jonas, so. I like how Jonas mentors Will but at the same time they're often at cross-purposes, whether Will's arresting Jonas or wondering if he's passing information on to Whispers. I'd love to see anything about that weird balance, the intimacy between them despite their being at odds, etc etc. And also maybe good things happening to Jonas bc he's always in trouble in canon. Or bad things happening to him bc I'm sorry but I love that whump.

Some ideas:
-I know it's been said before but SUN TEACHES KALA ABOUT SEX.

-Sun and Kala helping each other through the shit going on in their lives (Sun's brother's betrayal, Kala's marriage angst, Wolfgang being captured, etc).

-Sun and Kala meet at a business meeting bc their companies are working on a new partnership. Or at some other business-related conference. Sun doesn't usually mix business and pleasure but she's tempted ;)

-Sun goes to be with Kala in Mumbai bc she's on the run from the law!

-I'm perfectly fine with polyamory for this ship so if you wanna throw someone else into the Sun/Kala go ahead. Rajan? Wolfgang? Mun? Capheus? Riley? It's fine, as long as Sun and Kala's relationship remains more or less central.

-...but on the other hand I am also requesting Sun/Capheus, so if you did want to just mash it into a Sun/Kala/Capheus ship with equal focus on both, I wouldn't exactly object...

-Right, moving on. For Sun/Capheus, maybe on the run from the law, Sun goes to Nairobi! But escaping the hand of the law does not mean she's out of trouble bc now she's pulled straight into Capheus' election troubles, the ppl trying to sabotage his campaign, the gang violence...

-Sun "visits" Capheus while in prison bc she needs some damn fresh air and good company.

-I was thinking about Sun and Capheus and BDSM the other day and I realized I had no idea who would dom so if you want to explore a BDSM dynamic, I'd like that. Does Sun like having someone else take control and take care of he, or does she, in prison, enjoy the chance to take some control back? Does Capheus like being dominated by a strong woman or does his caregiving, kind of masterful side shine through? Just. Yes.

-Either Sun or Capheus visits the other in public and is...kind of distracting...

-Sun teaches Capheus some self defense moves for times when he can't borrow hers.

-Sun meets Capheus' mom. Or. Fuck. SUN MEETS SILAS KEBAKA. or FUCK. SUN MEETS KEBAKA'S DAUGHTER. OR ALL THREE.

-Capheus' driving is fuckign insane. Does it terrify Sun or is she kind of into it? Or both?

-Hurt/comfort. HURT/COMFORT.

-And speaking of that hurt/comfort, I'm also requesting Jonas & Will and honestly, these two are both at their most vulnerable around each other a lot of the time and I am willing to see some of that comfort content.

-Will first arrests Jonas and then kidnaps him--he keeps on being responsible for Jonas being a prisoner. How does he feel about this? Does Jonas resent him?

-Jonas shows Will a memory.

-Whispers uses Jonas against Will, or vice versa.

-I only realized Lila/Kala was nominated at the last second so I have less ideas for them BUT I'm just gonna steal my ideas from old letters so

-Lila's gang is located in Mumbai rather than Berlin, so she meets Kala instead of Wolfgang. Maybe she's blackmailing Rajan or messing with Kala's company. Maybe she's just happy to find another sensate...whom she may be able to twist to her own purposes.

-Lila and Kala in the same cluster! Do they love or hate each other? What if Lila plays the Wolfgang role of being Kala's forbidden love, the bad girl?

-Lila takes Kala hostage in the house raid instead of shooting her.

-Lila loves looking at the scar on Kala's stomach where she shot her.

-Lila and Kala's first time having sex--Lila knows more technique but Kala maybe has more experience with ppl who actually love her, they're coming from very different places.

-Or, all the dark dysfunctional things--Lila stalking Kala, dub-con or non-con, drugs, kidnapping, murder, bad stuff, you know how it be.

-Lila's dead but Kala still sees her ghost (maybe bc it's a sensate thing like with Angelica?)

Monster
Requesting: Eva/Tenma, Johan/Tenma, Lunge/Tenma

I'd say Tenma's just a guy I ship with everyone but that's not true, I have intense feelings about all these ships in different ways. First of all, I LOVE EVA. I love how she's a complete shady bitch and yet you feel for her so much at the same time! I love how she starts, classy and rich and entitled. I love her in freefall throughout most of the series, betraying Tenma and becoming an alcoholic and hating life. I love how she puts herself together at the end. And I'm fine with you using any one of those stages of her life. And I super ship here with Tenma! Are they healthy? Maybe not, but who cares! Or they can be healthy if you want! I just think they're cool!

Then there's Johan and Tenma. I would usually make this ship gen but since the tag is shippy I have to admit the creepy shippy side of it does appeal to me. I like Johan the mysterious stranger, the epitome of evil. I also like the fact that the series tries to humanize Johan and Tenma is constantly trying to understand him. I LOVE how Tenma feels responsible for Johan, and how hard Johan fucks with him! It's good stuff.

Finally there's Lunge. For me it's just a classic Valjean/Javert type ship, Lunge being obsessed with catching Tenma and Tenma running off to Do Important Things. I'd love to see Lunge being obsessed with the real Tenma, not just the criminal he's built up in his head--or failing that, being confronted with that reality. Or, just a lot of UST? Or maybe even making a relationship work...

Some ideas:

-Eva and Tenma get back together again shortly after their initial breakup, or Eva can't bring herself to break up with him despite how angry their engagement has made her father.

-Tenma on the run drops in on Eva after some villain (Roberto, Johan, the Baby, you pick) obliquely threatens her, just to check if she's okay. Obviously their meeting is not exactly peaceful.

-Postcanon Eva and Tenma have lunch sometimes, just as friends, sure they've changed too much to be together and sure they would never fit. But it turns out maybe they've both changed just enough.

-Eva is convinced that some lives are worth more than others. But whose lives does she value? If she's forced to choose between risking her own life and risking Tenma's, what does she choose?

-Eva successfully blackmails Tenma into a relationship with her with the use of the tie, but the relationship is strained and doesn't last long.

-Precanon Eva likes showing her boyfriend off. She's quite a vicious socialite--Tenma is concerned at her meanness, but still kind of flattered bc she's nice to HIM.

-Bondage. Does Eva like being tied up? Does she like handcuffing Tenma to the bed? ...maybe they did something like this when they were together but later they meet again and one of them ties or handcuffs the other for real, possibly to keep them away from danger or turn them over to the police... and it's somehow still affecting them and they're both just like "idk what to do about this except make out?"

-Johan/Tenma--I've heard of Johan being a vampire before but what if Tenma is a vampire who turns Johan to save his life, and later regrets it when Johan turns out to be the worst kind of vampire ever?

-Johan stalks Tenma. Right before their second meeting? On and off over a period of many years? Subtly, while Tenma's chasing him, amused at the irony?

-Tenma captures Johan instead of killing him and tries to teach him the value of life and love--in a platonic, parental way, of course. Johan twists the situation in directions Tenma didn't expect.

-During Johan and Tenma's first tense confrontation, Johan kissed Tenma before walking out, and Tenma can't stop thinking about it. Not always in a good way.

-Lunge/Tenma--whenever Lunge starts talking about Tenma in an analytical case kind of way he always somehow mentions that Tenma is, of course, "devastatingly attractive" and all the ppl around him are like...no? I mean, from a certain point of view? Is this really relevant?

-When Lunge is shot, Tenma has to keep him prisoner a bit longer, not being able to take him to a hospital safely. This results in a ton of H/C and UST.

-Lunge visits Tenma in prison. Now convinced Tenma is innocent, he's deeply apologetic... but some part of him is still irrationally pleased to see Tenma behind bars.

-Postcanon Lunge and Tenma talk about their weird relation to each other, maybe about Johan... Lunge wants Tenma to help him with the book he's writing, so they meet up for tea or a drink now and again. A quiet something develops.

 Phantom of the Opera
Requesting: Carlotta/Christine, Erik/Raoul, Raoul/The Persian, Erik/Raoul/Christine

I'm probably more involved with POTO than any other fandom on this letter, and I like seeing difft interpretations of the characters. That said, I really don't want to see Raoul-bashing or Carlotta-bashing. I like both of them too much for that.

This is a fandom where difft versions mix and meld in fanfic a lot. I'm familiar with ALW, both stage and 2004 movie versions, as well as Leroux, and the 1990 TV series, but feel free to draw from any version you wish. That said, I've never read Kay and I've never seen LND, and I don't plan to.

Some ideas:

-For any: Operatic roleplay of some sort. An opera within the show, or any other opera I have never heard of and will have to google the plot of. Especially Il Muto for Carlotta/Christine :) but really, any is fine.

-Cross-dressing. Again, this goes for any! I love Christine in pants. I've heard hot thoughts about Raoul in dresses. I would be willing to see one of the others trying something out.

-Christine has been warned away from Carlotta by Erik (who has a GRUDGE) but surely anyone who sings so well can't be all that bad, right? Besides, Christine really just wants a role model. Featuring: Nasty, passive-aggressive Carlotta who assumes Christine is plotting against her? Condescending Carlotta who initially can't take Christine seriously as a threat? Genuinely nice Carlotta who likes to see another promising diva in the business? a mix of all three? none of the above?

-Carlotta is hurt in a "mysterious accident", and Christine is PISSED about it. Meanwhile, Carlotta in't entirely sure she wasn't behind said accident, and is either super pissed as well--at CHRISTINE--or she's actually a little bit scared.

-And on that note...I can see dark!Christine using her connection with Erik to threaten Carlotta...and get Carlotta to do what she wants...

-Daroga/Raoul--the Daroga rescuing Raoul from deadly peril, probably at Erik's hands.

-The Daroga tries to intimidate Raoul to discourage him from Erik-hunting (it's bad for his health, damn it) but the intimidation backfires bc Raoul turn out to be ~into it~. I'm picturing Raoul backed against a wall or facing him in a dark hallway, but go where you will.

-The Daroga thinks Raoul is in a relationship with Christine, but not so! Raoul is actually very clumsily trying to court him. But they're both kind of clueless.

-I usually like dark E/R, with kidnapping, threats, strangling, stalking, even torture... generally bad things, not always explicitly sexual or romantic.

-But, I would be up for light E/R as well. No LND please, I've never seen it. Raoul the noble patronizing a bitter, sarcastic composer who hates him but also is starting to be into him? Yes pls! Erik the actual ghost haunting the most interesting ppl at the opera house! Postcanon Erik and Raoul running into each other after Raoul and Christine are for one reason or another no longer together!

-Erik being obsessed with the ALW Raoul as the new patron, determined to sway this impressionable young patron to his will, one way or another.

-Erik sending Raoul one thousand letters, some threatening, some oddly sweet, some weirdly omniscient and personal, all of them making their relationship a lot more intense than Raoul would ever have expected.

-Raoul becomes Erik's prisoner bc Erik kidnaps him to use as a hostage to make Don Juan Triumphant happen or to use against Christine. Or bc Christine leaves him behind in the Final Lair scene. Or for whatever other bullshit reason you can come up with. Erik is growing attached, but he's still a complete asshole.

Zenda Novels
Requesting: Rupert of Hentzau/Rudolf Rassendyll

Omg, I was so surprised to see this nominated! The Prisoner of Zenda is one of my favorite novels. ...but I have to admit I've never actually read Rupert of Hentzau bc I read like three pages and got too depressed over Flavia's depressing marriage and gave up. So, I'd prefer if you stuck to the canon of the first novel? (I also have to admit I haven't read the book in about a year and have more recently watched the 1937 movie version but I will try my best to make these prompts book-specific, and since it's only been a year I think I'll do okay.)

So... Rupert's a real scoundrel, and Rassendyll, equally, is one clever hoe. The difference between them seems to be mostly morals, and it's one I'd rather not see really erased; I think Rassendyll is chill with bending the rules but it's hard to imagine him going so far as to kill the king to keep the throne etc etc. Similarly, I can't see Rupert ever being really good, like a really decent guy... even if he had a conscience for a moment or two, I think he'd remain a rascal.

Some ideas:

-Rupert's just super taken with Rassendyll and for some reason he's decided to monologue about his clever nemesis to the king, a good captive audience. At first the king is like...typical Rupert rants, good to hear Rassendyll's doing an okay job with his trickery, I'm rooting for him...but then Rupert's monologue goes in some weird directions (like, idk, "you can just tell that play actor is good in bed and it's really frustrating" or "when we had this confrontation the other day he was wearing a really fetching pair of pants") and the king is like...what??

-The above but instead of Rupert monologuing at the king it's Rassendyll monologuing to Sapt or Fritz or even Flavia. I feel like the most sympathetic party here would probably be Fritz, but even there, there's def some skepticism. "Rassendyll...weren't we discussing plans? Aren't we getting a little off topic?"

-Either Rupert or Rassendyll is scoping out enemy territory and has infiltrated the other's bedroom when they come back. Do they get caught? Do they have to hide in a closet? what do they do

-The Rassendyll squad has secretly captured Rupert and has not decided what to do with him--Black Michael doesn't know he's been taken yet, and they can't decide whether to try to get information out of him, try to use him as a hostage, kill him, keep him prisoner and out of the way... meanwhile Rassendyll is just intensely turned on by the sight of Rupert tied up. Does Rupert use this fact to his advantage? Is he enjoying his captivity with the flair of a villain who's sure he hasn't really lost, or is he seething, and humiliated by Rassendyll's amusement? What happens if he gets loose?

-Or, on the other side, Rupert and a couple henchmen capture Rassendyll... but when Rupert realizes that if he takes Rassendyll back to Michael, Michael will kill him, he can't bring himself to do it. Or he does bring Rassendyll back, but he talks Michael into just killing the king bc "it's safe now" and letting Rupert keep Rassendyll for himself ;)

-The king dies before Rassendyll can rescue him, either during the attempted rescue or before Rassendyll can even try. This leaves Rassendyll as king, and he doesn't exactly mind, especially with Flavia as his betrothed. But Rupert won't leave him alone. Maybe he's trying to set up blackmail. Maybe he's just really into a guy with a crown. One way or another, he keeps on harrassing Rassendyll and Rassendyll is like... I should not be into this. I really should not be into this.

-Weird hurt/comfort fic. Rassendyll gets sick or injured and Rupert comes to visit and doesn't actually try to murder him? Rupert is sick/injured and for some reason Rassendyll sees him and feels unexpectedly sympathetic rather than amused? Maybe still a little amused...

-Soulmarks. Rupert's like, "Michael we can't kill this Rassendyll guy he's my actual soulmate." Rassendyll's like "WHY DID MY SOULMATE HAVE TO BE THIS DUDE." Probably not name soulmarks, bc you know Rupert would have looked Rassendyll up years ago or vice versa, noble families aren't hard to find.

By the way, this has nothing to do with my prompts, but if you like slash and you like Rupert of Hentzau, I have to recommend the novel The Henchmen of Zenda by KJ Charles, which is an m/m retelling of The Prisoner of Zenda and quite lovely :)
