Chocolate Box 2021
Hi, Chocolatier! This year I'm requesting some Asian dramas with pretty small fandoms. So it'll be interesting to see what you make for me :) these fandoms don't have a lot of content, so I'll be pretty excited over anything.

The Disguiser
Ming Tai/Wang Tian Feng, Ming Tai & Wang Tian Feng
These two's relationship in the show is so fucked up. Wang Tian Feng kidnaps Ming Tai, forces him to join the training camp, manipulates him into begging to stay just to further ensure his obedience, and eventually ends up sending him into a situation that probably should have killed him. At the same time, you get the sense that he cares about Ming Tai in his own messed up way--giving him a watch, sitting with him at meals, preventing him from committing suicide during the death plan even when he had a low chance of survival. And Ming Tai wants to trust and look up to Wang Tian Feng even though he knows how shady Wang Tian Feng is--wants Wang Tian Feng to be proud of him, sees him as sort of a father figure. I am invested in this relationship, both as gen and as a possible ship, and would love either something really messed up and dark or perhaps something more lowkey where their relationship doesn't have such a tragic ending.
Some vague prompts:
-Wang Tian Feng survives the death plan somehow (perhaps his death is also faked?) and reunites with Ming Tai sometime later. Maybe he hunts down Ming Tai and Cheng Jin Yun in their new alteregoes, or maybe he unexpectedly shows up at Uncle Li's place while Ming Tai is recuperating from torture. Either way, how would Ming Tai react to Wang Tian Feng, now knowing he was responsible for Yu Man Li and Guo Qiyun's deaths? (I would also love seeing how Cheng Jin Yun or Uncle Li would react to him lols, but that's secondary).
-Ming Tai having feelings about watches.
-Dub-con or non-con are fine for this ship--I can easily imagine Wang Tian Feng forcing Ming Tai to prove his loyalty in another sadistic test, or taking advantage of the power imbalance between them.
-Ming Tai's been trained to resist interrogation, to escape imprisonment, to fight well in hand-to-hand combat, to shoot, to decode messages, etc etc... but has he been properly trained at a honey trap?? Can Wang Tian Feng provide this valuable training??
-On the gen side, an AU where Ming Tai's missing dad turns out to be Wang Tian Feng, not Uncle Li. (But please don't make it shippy if you choose this prompt--incest squicks me out.)
-Wang Tian Feng feeling jealous of Ming Lou's hold on Ming Tai being stronger than his and acting possessive in front of Ming Lou, possibly while Ming Tai has to pretend 1. that he doesn't know Ming Lou is Viper, and therefore, 2. that he doesn't know Wang Tian Feng (bc Ming Lou, if he wasn't Viper, shouldn't know that Ming Tai and Wang Tian Feng know each other). Bonus points for Ming Tai lowkey supporting Wang Tian Feng's efforts to mark his territory, either out of loyalty or out of petty spite towards Ming Lou.
The Flame's Daughter
Anye Luo/Yu Zihan, Anye Luo/Zhan Feng, Anye Luo & Zhan Feng, Dao Liexiang/Lei Jinghong, Feng Huang/Lei Jinghong
In general, I love the plotting and scheming in this show, the angst the tangle of relationships, and the over-the-top martial arts. If you give me any of those things, I'll probably be pretty happy.
Anye Luo/Yu Zihan
A ship of plotting and counterplotting. The mind games! Anye Luo has Yu Zihan cursed, and then kidnapped, and then poisoned, and later on imprisons and tortures him... but there's still some weird respect there for Yu Zihan's abilities. That rant he gives to Yu Zihan the first time they meet about how Yu Zihan deserves better, deserves to be emperor someday, is catnip to me--did he mean it? How exactly does he see Yu Zihan? Meanwhile Yu Zihan acts like he's up for being Anye Luo's partner in schemes, but his plans ultimately lead to Anye Luo's downfall. Anye Luo didn't properly guard against him, and he took advantage. Everyone underestimates Yu Zihan in the end! Anyways I would be very interested in seeing these two manipulate each other or just in seeing Anye Luo do more awful things to Yu Zihan.
Some vague prompts:
-If Yu Zihan actually sided with Anye Luo, what would that look like? Would they take over the world together? Would Anye Luo actually support Yu Zihan as emperor, or would he eventually betray him like he discarded Yu Zihan's brother?
-I'm always here for a dungeon fic and Yu Zihan was locked up in Anye Luo's dungeon twice so uhh that's interesting. Torture, non-con, villainous gloating, attempts to win Yu Zihan over... It's all good.
-AU where Anye Luo wins--what does he do with Yu Zihan in the aftermath?
-AU where Anye Luo still loses but survives the finale and years later, he and Yu Zihan meet again. Has he given up his plans for world domination? Is there literally any scenario where these two could get along and have an honest, amicable conversation? (....probably not.)
-Canon divergence where Anye Luo is the one to visit the palace (in disguise, probably) and cure Yu Zihan's deafness rather than Anye Jue. A slightly less antagonistic first meeting, but I can't imagine Yu Zihan would trust him, especially when the Chill Spell set in... but maybe Anye Luo would offer to cure that also?? hm.
Anye Luo/Zhan Feng, Anye Luo & Zhan Feng
I'm not picky on whether these two are shippy or not, I just enjoy their weird fuckign relationship. Yin Xue once said that Anye Luo loved Zhan Feng more than anyone for being Anye Ming's son, and hated him more than anyone for being Zhan Feitian's son--wanted to protect him for the former and was even willing to kill him for the latter. So there's already this love/hate vibe, and then it turns out Zhan Feng wasn't even Anye Ming or Zhan Feitian's son anyway? But in the meantime Anye Luo's already brought Zhan Feng through a whole corruption arc as his mentor and has even come to care about him a little bit, at least enough that later on when Zhan Feng betrays him he doesn't immediately kill him. It's Complicated.
Some vague prompts:
-See what I said above about dungeon fics.
-Anye Luo trying to see Anye Ming in Zhan Feng, and sometimes seeing her and sometimes not, sometimes being very affectionate towards Zhan Feng as a result and sometimes being angry and discouraged with him, maybe sudden mood shifts bc Anye Luo's attitude towards Zhan Feng is precarious...
-...and, in seeing Anye Ming in Zhan Feng, perhaps Anye Luo ends up sexually/romantically obsessed with him in the same way??
-What if Anye Luo had successfully stolen Zhan Feng from Flaming Hills as a baby, and raised him as his own kid? How would that change Zhan Feng as a person? And would Anye Luo become more or less stable as a result? (And also, since in this AU you can assume he wasn't hiding away cultivating to recover from injuries for years--since Yin Xue probably didn't have a chance to almost kill him--how's Dark River doing?)
-How do others in Dark River feel about Zhan Feng? Dark River doesn't even have male members for the most part, and Zhan Feng is from Flaming Hills, but one day Anye Luo shows up with Zhan Feng in tow and is like "he's my sort-of-heir now."
-Again, an "Anye Luo wins" AU would be interesting here, whether Zhan Feng sticks with him or goes against him and loses.
My Country: the New Age
Nam Seon-ho/Seo Hwi, Nam Seon-ho/Yi Bang-won, Nam Seon-ho/Seo Hwi/Yi Bang-won
My Country is currently my main fandom, so I have a lot of thoughts and feelings lols. I love all the angst, whump, and scheming of the show, and anything in that vein would be good. It's a dark canon with complicated relationships, and darkfic (murder, torture, non-con or dub-con, etc.) is welcome for any of these pairings. In fact, for this canon, I'm waiving the major character death DNW. But if you want to let these people be happy for once, I would also be very happy with that.
Seon-ho/Hwi
Seon-ho and Hwi give me so many feelings. They care about each other deeply and know each other really well, but they just have different priorities and different goals and as a result keep on going against each other. And they aren't completely stellar at communicating either. I'm mostly picturing canon divergence here where they get together and maybe don't die.
Some vague prompts:
-Seon-ho and Hwi surviving the end of the show somehow. (Running away rather than returning to the capital? Talking Bang-won down without anyone dying? Just somehow surviving a whole ton of arrow and stab wounds? Pick your poison.)
-Seon-ho and Hwi during the Hwi-being-blackmailed part of the show--Seon-ho expressing regrets, maybe, or an angry makeout session with no communication or relationship resolution involved, or the two working together on a more lowkey mission than murdering Bang-won. (If you can make them kiss in that rickety shack, basically, I will be in your debt.)
-Someone trying to matchmake Seon-ho and Hwi--possibly Yeon? Or one of the Hwi Squad? I would boggle at and be amazed by Nam Jeon or Bang-won trying to matchmake them; probably impossible but it could be hilarious.
-Literally any kind of hurt/comfort, physical or emotional.
-AU where Hwi doesn't run off for a six year timeskip and he and Seon-ho work out their issues and their grief together? Or, hard mode, AU where Seon-ho doesn't run off after Nam Jeon's death and THEN he and Hwi work out their issues and their grief together.
Seon-ho/Bang-won
I feel like with this ship you can either go the route of hate-sex and badwrong happenings or you can go down a road of "actually these two have a lot in common even though they'd never admit it" and actual human connection, and I would just like to say that I'm up for both of these things, very much, or anything in between.
Some vague prompts:
-Seon-ho and Bang-won are both crushing on Hwi but he's off on a six year time-skip journey. Somehow this leads to Seon-ho and Bang-won fucking each other instead.
-Either Seon-ho or Bang-won takes the other captive and they embark on either a journey of reluctant understanding or flagrant abuse of power.
-Seon-ho and Bang-won having a long talk about their awful parental relationships. Maybe over a drink at Ihwaru? Or after one or both has just been publicly mistreated by their dad--Seung-gye putting Bang-won down in front of the court, or Nam Jeon failing to stand up for Seon-ho when he gets in some kind of trouble. (Bonus points for them being kind of sympathetic but also kind of bitchy bc they like it when the other doesn't get their way.)
-On a similar note, something about Bang-won's desire to offer Seon-ho mercy--he first tries to spare him after Nam Jeon's death, and later even killing him tells him he can "rest". So... anything where Bang-won is somehow unexpectedly nice to Seon-ho or maybe protects him would be lovely.
-Any ahistorical AU where Seon-ho gets Bang-won to not kill his kid brother would also be very nice though I'm not sure how you'd swing it.
Seon-ho/Bang-won/Hwi
You take the two above ships and you mash them together with a little extra "also Bang-won and Hwi are into each other but have a weird not-quite-fealty dynamic going on, and also Bang-won killed Hwi's dad and has some unresolved issues over this".
Some vague prompts:
-After Yeon's death, Seon-ho wants to join Bang-won and Hwi against Nam Jeon. Bang-won, of course, would be wary of him... would he require proof of Seon-ho's loyalty? Or would Seon-ho just slowly grow on him?
-After one of these three gets injured, the other two must (perhaps reluctantly) work together to protect him.
-Bang-won takes both Seon-ho and Hwi prisoner rather than killing them in the finale. The world thinks they're dead, but actually they're in some sort of gilded cage situation. No one's very happy about this.
-...this is not precisely an OT3 prompt but. As I said, waiving the major character death DNW, what about an AU where one of these three kills another--how would the third react? Would Hwi be angry at Seon-ho for killing Bang-won and seek vengeance? What if Bang-won killed Seon-ho? Or if Bang-won successfully killed Hwi? If Hwi killed Seon-ho (sort of accidentally) when attacking the Nam manor, would Bang-won be able to comfort him? (...I can't imagine Seon-ho would care about Hwi killing Bang-won except to go "nice job babe", but I wouldn't not be into that either. Really don't want Seon-ho killing Hwi though.)
-What if... we just all worked together to kill Nam Jeon... wouldn't that be nice...

White Christmas
Choi Chi-hoon/Kang Mi-reu/Park Moo-yul, Choi Chi-hoon/Park Moo-yul, Jo Young-jae/Park Moo-yul
For this fandom, I kind of ended up shipping Park Mooyul with everyone, so I guess I'll start with some general thoughts on Park Mooyul. A while ago I was rewatching this show with a friend and on the first episode the friend said that she didn't like how Park Mooyul seemed kind of wary and hesitant. I thought this was hilarious because Park Mooyul strikes me the exact opposite way--he's the guy who decides it's his mission, specifically, to find out who sent the letters; he loves throwing himself at people and/or in front of guns, and he would like to save people--whether from killers or from sickness or from depression--but it's often not really within his abilities. I also love his guilt complex/sense of responsibility, sometimes justified (guilt over chasing Kangmo with a stick) and sometimes not (the whole thing with his mother, his guilt towards Eunsung in general, etc). It's also interesting how Park Mooyul is in theory some kind of goody two-shoes (Eunsung even calls him "the most obedient boy"), but... doesn't really act like it at all? Besides his not telling the teacher about the letters at first, there's the brawling, the lack of hesitancy in keeping Kang Mireu's presence on campus secret, the fact that he had a secret relationship with Yu Eunsung despite it being against school policy apparently, the... everything, frankly. And yet the teacher says when he sees the boys fighting, "Eh, it'll be fine, Park Mooyul's there." Why the fuck does everyone think he's such a respectable dude?? I honestly dk.
Park Mooyul/Choi Chihoon
This ship is probably the most obvious. I love the one-sided rivalry going on here, and the fact that despite this the two basically seem to respect each other from the beginning. Then Park Mooyul pushed Chihoon off a cliff, omg! Then he saved Chihoon's life! I really loved Chihoon and Mooyul's brief attempt to take down Oh Junghye and Kim Yohan before they were recaptured, too, especially the standoff with Chihoon and the empty gun. ("Does an empty gun make you feel safe?" Chihoon asked. Little did he know he would soon find out the answer to this question.) In general when they're scheming together, things are very fun. I also loved the scene when Chihoon thought everyone should run away during the search for Yoonsu and tried to communicate this solely by looking at Mooyul intensely. Poor Mooyul's not telepathic, Chihoon! (Also, the fact that Chihoon was staring at Mooyul specifically in his telepathy attempt, even though he was partnered with Jaekyu because he trusted Mooyul to get it... which did not work out lols.) Also, Mooyul doing his doctor thing with Chihoon's broken leg! Just, there's a lot of good content.
Chihoon in general is an interesting character to me bc despite the fact that he has low empathy (and little emotion in general, though not quite none), he still has a strong grasp of morality and does his best to help the team. Being logical doesn't make him selfish or a jerk, though it does occasionally make him insensitive. Also, his great plans! Also, his smirks. These are all good things.
Some vague prompts:
-Kim Yohan playing Chihoon and Mooyul against each other. Maybe some dub-con along these lines? Or just Kim Yohan putting the two in a situation where they'd be at odds--e.g. manipulating Chihoon into making a choice that makes him seem heartless, or making Mooyul feel inferior to him in that way that activates his jealousy thing.
-Mooyul being protective of Chihoon, or Chihoon being protective of Mooyul. Or the two taking care of each other in some way. (This can range from studying together to sick fic to "I need your help hiding a body" lols.)
-Mooyul's mixed feelings for Chihoon not being solely rivalry but also angsty pining that eventually erupts into him frustratedly grabbing Chihoon and making out with him! Possibly this somehow occurs instead of the fight on the snowy cliff? Or maybe after Mooyul discovers that Chihoon isn't fucking dead.
-Chihoon realizes that people touching Mooyul makes him calm down, and so starts touching him when he gets angry or scared or sad. This slowly escalates; he also eventually realizes that actually, most people touching Mooyul does not calm him down, and it might just be that Mooyul likes him.
Park Mooyul/Kang Mireu/Choi Chihoon
I love these three geniuses and I hate that we never really see all three of them working in tandem. I mean, Chihoon wasn't even aware Mireu was on campus until Mooyul came to ask him what to do about Mireu being in the detention room (...which was an interesting choice btw). I think it's cool that you have three different kinds of genius: Chihoon, unemotional but very logical and good at science, Kang Mireu, quite emotional but also very easy to calm down and oddly practical and not prone to panic, and Mooyul, an emotional mess (but able to hide it sometimes) who is more a leader than the other two and perhaps works better with people. And they all respect and even trust each other, but there's always that tension.... and maybe that tension is actually romantic?
Some vague prompty things:
-Kang Mireu proposes that the night before he heads off campus, he and Mooyul and Chihoon have a kissing contest to see who's better at kissing. For rivalry, and science.
-Mireu and Mooyul making out when they think Chihoon is dead, partly to deal with their conflicted emotions and distract themselves... and then immediately jumping Chihoon when they find out he's alive.
-After learning that the gun he has did not kill Chihoon, Mireu starts to play around with it. Chihoon is nonplussed; Mooyul is both outraged and turned on. Things devolve.
-Mooyul and Chihoon start going out pre-canon and Mireu is insanely jealous. Does he start a sabotage campaign on all their dates? Who does he tell himself is too good for who in this scenario? I feel like Chihoon would be the one to say "Just kiss us and get over it then" but maybe I'm wrong! How does Mireu eventually end up getting squished into the relationship?
-If one of the trio gets hurt or in trouble (or even insulted), how do the other two react? Who's the one trying to immediately start a brawl, and who tries to hold him back or feed the flame? Or do they come up with practical solutions to their problems? (Let's be real, Mooyul won't, but maybe the other two can?)
Park Mooyul/Jo Youngjae
Youngjae's feelings towards Mooyul seem kind of mixed in the show--he listens to Mooyul's plans and seems to respect him, but Mooyul is also the first person he names when he's telling the doctor how everyone acts like they're better than him. It's also really interesting to track Mooyul and Youngjae's interactions in relation to violence. In the first three episodes, Mooyul is constantly stopping Youngjae's fights. He stops Youngjae from beating Kangmo up, pulls Youngjae off Yoonsu at one point, and even rescues Youngjae from Kang Mireu's righteous wrath. But in the second half of the show, it's quite the opposite: Mooyul seems to be the one who thought of confronting Kangmo with sticks (though it's unclear), and barely holds Youngjae back during that pursuit, and eventually Mooyul and Chihoon are the ones who incite the group to murder Kim Yohan. Mooyul goes from holding Youngjae back to pushing him forward. I find both dynamics interesting, and they make me wonder how Mooyul might have related to Youngjae in the past, and how he might relate to him in the future.
But also, Youngjae is a very sad boy and Mooyul is kind of a reassuring person, so maybe h/c? Hm.
Some vague prompty things:
-Hurt/comfort: Youngjae gets hurt and future-doctor!Mooyul helps him. Youngjae talks to Mooyul about his insecurities, how he thinks he's the worst, and Mooyul may or may not be reassuring. Mooyul gets hurt or in danger and Youngjae finds the strength to help him. Post-canon recovery fics.
-Youngjae says to Eunsung at one point, "I hated you for dating Mooyul; I hated you for breaking up with him." Uh, there's definitely more than one way to interpret that statement! Maybe some Youngjae pining for Mooyul (possibly pre-canon) and thinking he's out of his reach bc he's dating Eunsung? Then seeing how he's hurt when Eunsung breaks up with him? Or... something along those lines?
-We don't see whether Mooyul ever found out Youngjae almost got Kim Yohan to kill Eunsung. How would he react if he did find that out? Would he feel betrayed? What if Youngjae tells him he wanted Eunsung dead bc then maybe Mooyul would like him? What if Mooyul erupts into sexy rage? Basically any way this scene would go would be interesting to me.
-Youngjae just forcing Mooyul to make out with him bc he's in delinquent mode, he likes Mooyul, and he kind of wants Mooyul to hate him.
-Post-canon, if these two associated, would they discourage or encourage each other's violent impulses? What would the others think of their relationship?
